Has anyone here actually gone to one of these things? I'm trying hard not to be judgmental. They just come across as very odd to me. I sort of get it from the celebrity point of view. But to pay hundreds of dollars to attend but travel/hotel and they pay hundreds of dollars PER autograph and photo? It just doesn't sound like any fun to me.

No other band (for me) has gone from my most loved, from 76-00, to most hated. The insufferable Gene and Paula just need to go away already. Yes, I haven't spent a dime on them in 25 years, but jeebus christ, they are still all over.

I don't get it at all. But at age 51 I am more concerned with getting the remaining trinkets out the door instead of bringing more in. And then flip the script and imagining how that dude feels about meeting YOU.

A friend of mine is doing all the meet and greets now whether it's Slaughter or Slayer. The recent Phil Anselmo he was posted Phil was completely in the shadows. It was so dark he might have even paid for a lookalike. Once he stepped out of character posting about his relationship woes. No one is impressed you paid to meet Tom Kiefer. The only photo getting you a second look is a paparazzi shot of you having lunch with Mick Jagger and Bono and only because she wants to get invited to the next one.
