The Who don't hate each other and their reasons for originally disbanding would probably be considered quaint today - we suck without our drummer and we're putting out shitty albums. Can you imagine anyone doing that today? It was a big shocker to Pete in 1989 when promoters said they don't need a new WHO album to tour.

The Eagles forced anyone who didn't wanna be dominated by Frey / Henley / Azoff or accept a fraction of the pay or both. Now Henley mimes in front of a giant IMAX with a bunch of scabs and Joe Walsh.

Guns N Roses - Axl matured (BIG DIFFERENCE), or at least noticed the center of the universe lay elsewhere and life is amazing and when you're that fucking rich you should be happy, Also only 2 original members were invited back, the two go along get along guys both of whom quit and lit that winning lottery ticket on fire and excluding the other primary songwriter because he didn't want to work as a hired gun on salary playing the songs he wrote.

Now if Tracii can put together a stadium tour for LA Guns to open with 5 million dollar guarantees, at least enough to keep Sebastian walled off from the rest of the band and on his own private jet it might work. But headlining M3 and opening for Poison or Def Leppard to be stuck on a bus and sharing a dressing room while being held hostage by an almost geriatric permanently drunk and occasionally violent manchild for the money on the table is probably more than even most of us can deal with.

Besides watching Sebastian beg and bleat to rejoin the band is far more entertaining than anything they ever recorded.

He makes a very good point about Snake and Napoleon thinking they are too cool while all those other bands worked through the bs and did the show. They think they are Lennon and McCartney because they strung D C and G together SO different than the other 3000 songs that follow that progression.

It was Bach, baby. I don't even like the guy but c'mon.

Of the musicians I have known, Sebastian is FAR from the biggest cockholster. I actually got along great with the guy.

...and the other guys were really cool as well (tho I dunno about Rachel. I kinda got douche vibes from him), but as a group, they seem really stuck and judgmental. I think it is telling that there are the three core guys, then nobody else has stuck long-term, and also that that they tend to get technically good singers who are underwhelming personalities and don't even move the needle on the rock-star meter.

This says there is some sort of collective ego that they refuse to surrender the identity of the three of them to a frontman.

So I always wonder what happened. If Bas did not fuck every one of their wives/girlfriends or kill somebody's dog, then they are just being New Jersey dicks, living out a Joe Pesci in Goodfellas fantasy, thinking they are more self-determining and respected than they really are.

I mean, maybe? But LA Guns has gone through their own, very well publicized issues between Phil and Tracii and patched things up.

This sounds like Tracii has gotten to the end of the road and realized that "Shit, money IS all that matters". And unfortunately, he's not wrong.

It would be different if Skid Row could keep singers around, but hell, the only guy they got that wanted to stick around drank himself to death. It's not exactly a good look.

I think Tracii is exaggerating to say Skid Row would make millions. Sure, some festival shows would be big. How long will they continue to draw after that? Bach's voice isn't half of what it used to be.

He's not wrong about setting aside differences to do business and make some money, however, I don't think a Bach/SR reunion would equate to ticket sales. As a huge SR fan, I don't give two shits about seeing them back together. Bach's voice gets worse each year, and he's still a fat man child.
The time to do this was like a decade ago.

Sebastian magically reunites with SR & asks LAG to reunite for an opening slot (lets even imagine Riley is still with us)
Does Tracii go for it or say naw, Im happy with this lineup at the moment

of course this makes business sense. It cannot be argued any other way. Does it make personal sense, prolly not but that's not the issue. To think that there isn't a way to make this work logistically is also absurd. It can be done, there just happen to be 3 people who don't want it to.

What venue does SR play with Bas that is bigger than what they do now? Maybe a few festivals but that’s it. They wouldn’t even make enough on a tour to justify a separate tour bus for Bas in this economy.

This. Traci will cancel shows if the sun is out, so isn't that leaving money on the table? He's a 59 year old man who has been playing in bands his entire life and he can't figure out how to play in the heat without hiding in a bathroom? He's the last person who should be giving advice about anything.

Some people would prefer to just be happy than deal with toxic assholes. I don't see why that's so hard to understand.

Tracii is spot on. Right now as we sit, the 3 main Skid Row members have not worked for close to a year now. Try it out with Bach for couple of shows and good money. If it’s not something that works after those shows, either retire the group altogether or find another singer to play fly ins for there on out.

Have you ever had that 1 guy in your click, who annoys the F#@k out of everyone? That guy who is never wrong and he's always right?

You know, that guy that nobody wants to give a ride to the club or have him in your car on the way home?

This is the guy who gets in your car, and immediately starts to adjust the radio as he wishes, turns the volume up to 10, cranks the air, and throws his lit cigarette or empty beer can out the window as you're driving down the street.

Have you ever been in a band or touring situation, and when everyone goes to eat, they try to leave early, as to not have "that 1 guy" be included?

Maybe some of this might paint the picture for those who are challenged as to "why" they don't want him around.

I have also seen groups of uptight guys who form those little cliques and talk shit about whoever is not in it.

Given Skids' history with singers and the tight-knit little group at the middle, I can tell you what it looks like.

It is very easy for bands to fall into tribalism, especially if you have some easy delineating line like: "We are the three originals" where they just aren't going to ever see any reason to compromise even as the other members come and go until eventually they all start dying, and they will still go: "We stood our ground!" even though there is no ground left. (See also bands with family members ie: Van Halen who pissed away their best/last 20 years)

Honestly, I think it shows humility on Bas' part that he would want to get back in. He pulls as good as "Skid Row" does and also gets gigs like opening GNR tours that "Skid Row" will never get.

I was going to say that without knowing anything about the people involved, you could read that and be fairly certain that one or both of these is true:

A) Shake and Rachel hate Sebastian more than Tracii realizes.
B) Snake and Rachel have less money worries than Tracii thinks.

“Pissed away” in your eyes. Some people don’t need money and what they enjoy doing changes.

No. He was a 50% owner of the brand, which caused 2 LAGs for many years. Had Traci just joined back with him, which is apparently easy to do, according to him, they could have all been 1 LAG and not split the bookings between 2 bands

Not quite following the assumption that a reunion with SB would be a financial windfall for anyone.

They’d get one tour cycle in bigger venues, likely on a package tour, and then they’d be back to the same venues they’re currently doing on their own, but the three main principles would each be getting a smaller cut than they currently get.
