Well, sort of....
Now we've got "Rockin Daves ROUGH CUTT".
While everyone is focused on the Pearcy/DeMartini reunion, this happened over the weekend as well.
It's actually not as bad as the last Dave version with Chris Hagar. In the previous version they had the Black Roses video/single which the singer was pretty good. I actually liked that tune and it was pretty solid. Unfortunately, when the band played live it was kind of a train wreck and definitely had some "ROUGH" spots. Then the other original guys (with Shortino) came out with their full album and kind of knocked the momentum from the Dave/ Hagar version. After that, both versions of the band kind of went quietly off into the night.
Obviously Shortino is the OG and a great singer but for whatever reason he's not doing much these days. His prancing around with a cane schtick was honestly pretty cringe though. All the best to Duke Fame but....
This new guys' voice doesn't sound like Shortino or the second singer, but he has no problem hitting the ranges of either and might even have a better range than both. The band sounds pretty spot on.
So, what's the Metal Sludge verdict???
