So many others that should have made a lot more money than the above mentioned crap.

Here I go again for the win! It was all over MTV and many commercials since then, when it was also all over the radio playlists

Plus it was a hit twice, first in the UK and Europe and then years later in the US and Europe again...

Close. It’s “Here I Go Again”, followed by “Is This Love”, and
then “Still of the Night”.

Weird, I must have missed it when it plowed its way to the top of the charts in 1990...

It should be "Here I Go Again", but it could depend on how royalties were split. Did Coverdale's songwriting partners get a 50% cut? Did different songwriters negotiate different royalty rates with him? Something else I was wondering: Did Coverdale get 50% for lyrics and 0% for the music, or would he have taken 50% for the words, plus another cut for what he brought to the music?

This was my first thought..that this was a trick question.
Otherwise it would have to be Is this Love. Still hear it fairly often on the classic Rock station here. Think it is in some kinda commercial as well,

As the b-side to fool for your lovin’ 89, it will have earned some good money , I think publishing or something for singles was split evenly between a and b sides
