I thought both of the skids guys were super good state-of-the-art guitar players...nothing really stood out, but they had chops and could play anything most people were doing at the time.

Better than Reb Beach? Shit, I don't know. All of that shit is kind of the same. Reb Beach, Vito Bratta, the Skids guys, all the top end of average-but-not-distinct.

That said, in that video, his tone is shit.

Technically above average for sure.

But what’s interesting that Skid Row did not go to ”one cool ass lead guitar hero” route. You could hardly tell a difference between Snake and Scotti, neither of them stood out image wise and both shared the lead parts.

They aren't virtuosos and never claimed to be. Dimebag opened for them and they were cool with it.
