Phish @ Hollywood Bowl 4/25/25 review

Post by ijwthstd »

I had never even heard Phish before yesterday

Band - pretty good actually

Crowd - not bad

Out on the walk - kinda like Skid Row. The place, not the band. For once I would have preferred the band.

Any questions?

Rather fish on a boat. Toss the fish back
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Might have lost the opportunity in life to eat fish sandwich at phish show or fish sticks at phish show

I’ve listened to Skidrow before while on Skidrow wearing Skidrow shirt- that’s a life win

I've seen Phish a few times. Their live shows are much better than the albums. They stretch out their tunes when they play live.

They are 100% a very good live band.

I usually go if they are playing within a 3-4 hour drive.

I am not into endless jams or making a career out of listening to a band because it's a different show every night. But the music was really good. They are obviously incredible players. Some of the songs can be trimmed down to 3 to 5 minutes and be quite the toe tappers. And it's really presented the same way a jazz show is.

Also they are more underground and grass roots than the most of the "punk" and alternative on the radio in the 1990's.

Garbage...

I wouldn't walk across the street for 99.99999% of the bands on the planet, including this nonsense.

However... I do love some Midwest style Fish N' Chips on a Friday nite...

And... I recently bought a Filet O' Fish at McDonald's and it was EXCELLENT!

Good for you, not only were there dirty bare feet but a lot lizard standing on the benches right before the entrance is looking for a ticket. She throws her finger in the air, her hairy armpit almost in my face but with a blank stare and black saucer pupils and says in monotone "I need a ticket." Someone had one for her but she wouldn't even spend $20 and he walked in with it.

I have been craving fish and chips, might go to the Redwood tomorrow and get some.
