Fast Times Mall scene is the perfect 80's example. It was just like that....

Fast Times, one of my favorites of all time. That was exactly my era. Would have been in 10th grade.
So many actors have become big stars. Everything is perfect about that movie, especially Phoebe Cates' tits.
I still say Spicolli one-liners once in a while.

I had a memory.
Remember putting your quarter on the game, while someone else is playing, meaning, I’m next.

Fast Times looked 80s but felt a bit 70s (as it should have - was researched then). With the soundtrack having all those Irving Azhoff-connected bands, I associate it more with 70s music than 80s. There were a number of soundtracks from that era that mined many off the same musicians (and management). Heavy Metal was another, and that one is VERY 70s.

Yes, I also remember putting up a few quarters of my own while playing, basically saying, "Go away, I'm gonna be here awhile".

The Fast Times soundtrack also had an underrated Sammy Hagar song of the same name, and about the only Jimmy Buffett song I can stand.

Sammy Hagar’s Fast Times At Ridgemont High, is an awesome, awesome song.

I know the director has said she wasn't happy with the soundtrack, she wanted more newer artists like Oingo Boingo and Go Gos, less Jimmy Buffet and former Eagles (they had four songs). The Valley Girl, Last American Virgin, and even Surf II had much better soundtracks, IMHO.
