I think Taime has the right idea here... he drops a single, or two, every 5 years or so.

I am guessing he realizes, that not many fans want a NEW 12-15 song CD... and while some do, many MORE do not.

And that is not a guess, it's a fact... as proven by sales of NEW product from these bands, no matter what their status/level.

I feel like singles are more about visibility, and the best thing you could do would be to release a single with a video every 6 weeks-2 months, then collect them and press a vinyl record when you have enough.

Each time you put a single/video out, people remember you exist. If you want to keep visible, you need to do it consistently and with some promo every time.

Putting one single out every 5 years is a terrible idea, as it will get too much critical attention. Liiiiike when Bret put out his Kid Rock ripoff to kick off Party Gras. If that song had been part of a string of songs (or on an album) it would have gotten more of a pass, but instead people were like: "THIS is the only thing he can put out in years???"

Conversely, putting out 1 album every 5 years is a bad idea, because people will only hear the songs you release as singles/videos anyway, so you are essentially burying the other 10 songs, and you will also only get that bump in visibility for that few weeks around the album release anyway.

It's just fucking rock and roll, people. Write some fucking songs

I think another great idea would be to record an entire record and press vinyl only. Then release one song and video per month for a year.

People will buy the album at your shows because it is the only way to hear all of the new songs, and with the multiple single/video releases you still get an entire year of visibility off of the same group of songs.

All their songs sound like they were written and recorded in about 5 hours, so it makes no sense why a new one takes 5 years to release.

$50 for an autographed FP (only Taime signing) vinyl single is absurd.

The signature hopefully will be better than what Jizzy scribbled with a dried out sharpie.

People haven't wanted a new 12-15 song CD from Faster Pussycat since 1989.

It doesn't usually work when guys in their 60s try to write new Sleaze Rock tracks. I think even GNR realizes this. Just put something out to draw a little interest and play some shows.

Releasing 2-3 songs every 5 years barely works for Motley.
Taime should’ve at LEAST released a full record within 20 years. Regardless I’m anxious to hear this new song/Inxs cover

Maybe not 12-15 but 8-10 wouldn’t be a bad thing. None of us want scabs either but this genre insists on being scab city with guys like Taime being some of the worst offenders.

Unless it’s a punk band with two minutes songs, or a really good concept album, I don’t need 15 track albums from anybody. I get how they seemed like value back in the days of paying cash for overpriced CDs, but otherwise 9-12 songs is plenty.

Always a fan of FP but "Motorbike" is terrible. Taime is a fighter.
I give him a lot of credit for hanging on in life and music.

That's only the first single. The second is slated to be a glam rock-styled cover of Van Halen's "Jump."
