Ween is interesting because it feels like you're either really into them, and really get it, or you think they're brain-damaged idiots making unlistenable drugged-out babytalk trash.

From White Pepper on, I kinda tuned out. I'll have to sit down with those last three some time.

Before that, I was a huge fan. I was exactly the kind of high school kid that thought "Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down)" and "Mister, Would You Please Help My Pony?" were hilarious and amazing.

I suspect that they are EXTREMELY IRRITATING to some people here so I'm curious what people's takes are.

If all you've heard is "Push th' Little Daisies" and think they're obnoxious morons... that's fair. I'm not going to argue with you on that.

"Push th' Little Daisies" and "Spinal Meningitis (Got Me Down)" are both pretty fun weird college rock songs.

I never listened to them but I always thought of them as some kind of offbeat comedy thing... kind of like Tenacious D.

Ween is one of my favourite bands, I have almost all their records. No chance of ever seeing them live here though. We used to play Buenas Tardes Amigo, The Blarney Stone and What Deaner Was Talking About with one of my bands.

The Blarney Stone is one of the best drinking songs ever.

I like a lot of strange, odd, bizarre music.

But these guys truly suck.

They are just plain bad.

The fact that this band has a career in music is a miracle. They should thank their lucky stars daily that they actually make money off of the manure that they produce and call music.

Agree. They suck as satire, and they're lame as a serious band. Tenacious D with half the talent, or The Bloodhound Gang for pseudo-intellectuals.

Have a couple of friends that are diehards, one of them even plays in a Ween tribute that plays a couple of times a year and another bought tickets and took me to see Ween, so I have been exposed to them - they have a handful of songs I really like, a handful I don't like, but most of the stuff, I'm indifferent to.
