Tommy Lee and Brittany Furlan are separated, possibly heading for divorce, and his drinking is at the center of the split ... TMZ has learned.

Brittany and the Motley Crue drummer have been living separately for the past two weeks ... according to sources close to the couple. We're told Brittany and other people around Tommy feel like his drinking has gotten out of hand, and while they've urged him to get sober ... Tommy's been resistant.

Although the estranged couple is no longer living together, we're told they are still in communication.

There have been some public signs of trouble in their relationship -- Tommy unfollowed his wife on Instagram, and on Thursday, he posted a video of himself in a studio saying he's working on a song called "Stupid Girl."

Our sources say it's unclear, at this point, if either of them intends to file for divorce.

Tommy and Brittany got married in 2019 ... after meeting in 2017, and announcing their engagement in 2018. They don't have any kids together.

We reached out to a rep for Tommy -- no word back yet -- and when we contacted Brittany, she had no comment.

If these kids can't keep it together, what chance do the rest of us have?

I'll be really surprised if Tommy or Vince make it to 70 years old. Mick is already past that and Nikki has 4 years left and seems healthy enough. But Vince is already paying the price and Tommy can't be far behind. These guys have been alcoholics and addicts for over 40 some years and at some point their bodies are gonna tap out. It's gonna happen sooner than later.

No joke, Vince looks like a dying man. His liver is trying to leave his body. He has carried it to term and it now wants to live its own life, away from him. It HURTS to look at his stomach. He has to be in agony.

For at least the last 10-15 years, my money’s been on Tommy to croak out first. I feel like destined to DuBrow himself.

Guess what is next? Tommy and Pam 5.0 … he’s the only man she ever loved.

Any word yet why Vince is or was in the hospital?

I predict its heart or liver, he’d really slowed down on that last tour and wasn’t himself.

My grandparents were just getting started at 70.

I’m already toast and on my way out … I won’t even outlive my dad in years and he weighed 375 pounds, smoke 6 packs of cigarettes a day for 40 years, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think that's at all old. My dad's around that age and easily in better shape than me.

I don't know why, that milestone, to me, feels like "Okay, I made it." I'm not suggesting a Logan's Run type situation. Just calm reflection and pride in one's life's work.

By the way, I'm 10-15 years away from listening to ONLY music made by 70 year olds. The most current band I listen to is maybe 1998? So in no way am I saying "Pack it in! Time's up."

But remember when the Stones were grandpas on the Steel Wheels tour? Mick Jagger was a year older than I am right now.

Does she have enough cache to continue her podcast/stand-up career without being married to Tommy? She appears to be limited in the talent category. She could do OF.

Tommy is a clown but he’s got money. There’s probably a line of hot young chicks who would line up for him as sad as that is. I say good for him. I don’t know why he would bother getting married anyway. I would just jump from hottie to hottie if I were him. He could probably just go to the Rainbow every night and pull out a different wannabe model. Then in the morning he could send her home in an Uber and never see her again and do whatever he wants without someone telling him what to do. Seems like a deal to me.

I have a friend that has a couple of marriages under his belt...lol. His motto now is "Feed me, F88k me, then leave me the F88k alone, and it works well for him...

Tommy could do that the rest of his life with grade A prime chicks. simply because he has the gold and there are a never ending supply of gold diggers. Unless he desires "companionship", which is different. He could hire a live in assistant to be his friend.

Some guys are just hard-wired to get laid, and Tommy is one of them. Add in the celebrity factor, giant hog, and social proof of locking down prime Pam Anderson, and the options are ridiculous.

His problem is he's always wanted to be in love and get married. He was the first Crue member to get hitched - like when he was 22 or something right as the band was taking off.

I just read that he unfollowed his wife on Instagram. The guy never stops acting like a fourteen-year-old.

Terrific genes of course, but he also credits it to his access to quality drugs.
He basically says: "when I started on hartdrugs I got them from the pharmacy, and afterwards I got the same quality because I'm a rockstar."

I can't explain guys like that but I think it's a perfect storm of genetics and wealth mixed with maybe a couple sensible choices along the way, like following medical advice. I think he's gradually toned it down over the years, so now he only smokes a little weed.

Finally quit cigarettes, even. Heroin's for sure more immediately deadly than cigarettes, but boy would I rather have a heroin death. Cancer is nothing short of torture.

But then you got guys like Taylor Hawkins who probably partied a tenth as hard and his body gives out at 50.

Ozzy seemed like he'd be last man standing, but this shit caught up to even him. (Or was the ATV accident the beginning of the end for him? I think all the surgeries wore him down, maybe.)
