I've tried to be better this year about checking out new music, but I didn't find much to connect with this month. Hopefully June will be better.
A-Z - "I Am Numb" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyZjGjQZsMs)
I admittedly slept on the first album from this project featuring Fates Warning's old drummer and current singer, but I finally took a listen and dug what I heard. (Surprisingly, it's more hard rock than prog.) New album comes out next Friday.
Shiraz Lane - "Plastic Heart" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6z0xTFClNfs)
Much better than the second new song the Finnish hair metal revivalists recently released (the aptly named "Bullshit"). Still no official word on when the new album will come out, but I'm more interested now.
Satriani/Vai feat. Glenn Hughes - "I Wanna Play My Guitar" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h86Wsj6BnU8)
A bit too direct lyrically for my tastes, but it still features three masters doing their things, so it gets a pass.
Buckcherry - "Set It Free" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxnX3inEX_c)
Didn't like it as much as the first two singles from the upcoming album, but even still, this is certainly the most I've cared about a new Buckcherry record in 20 years.
I'm still too damn cheap to pay $1 to hear the new Firehouse track.
