Metallica just posted this pro shot of them doing "Shortest Straw" last month. Lars has gotten a lot of shit over the years but he nails everything here and the band sounds amazing for all being 60 something.

It’s so weird how much I loved this band back in the 80s but now I don’t care if I never hear another Metallica song as long as I live.

I can’t wait til the Load box set next week

Swap the 90s with 80s and I'm the same.

The only album I really listen to anymore is Kill em' All. Could never get into anything past the black album. No idea how those 90s records sold so well.

This band is the shining example of what bands should be doing as far as going the extra mile to give their fans pro shot live videos and deep cuts, box sets, etc... It's impressive actually. Others should take note....

I can’t knock them for any of that. They’ve always been inventive with their gigs and products and they never phone it in live. I guess part of me just outgrew the music or whatever. I got burned out on it ages ago, but that’s not on them. I never liked much of the post-Black stuff anyway. A do agree that other bands would be great to put in a fraction of the effort they do especially at this point.
