The outtakes could have been just one album.
Which tracks would you include?

My kids (both in early 20's) Love GnR.

If I ask them Which album of theirs they like best, the answer would be "This is GnR" on Spotify.

Albums to them are an Old person thing

As "one and done." They really only had one project with strong material. After that, they destroyed what was good about the band (or Axl did). Once Axl was able to be the "artiste" and got to overwork everything, it lost its charm. There are a few strong tracks on each subsequent record, but mostly . . . not.

They will just be like us here. They'll love 'em for a few years, and then spend the rest of their lives bitching about what they used to love.

Just like how people look at them now. They had a great first album and a few other hits and now they're old. The back catalog still sounds relevant and the production hasn't aged, so when kids find it, they'll think it's cool if they like that type of music and that's that. Future generations aren't gonna bitch about GNR because unlike us, they would never have had the opportunity to see them live or be there for their peak. They won't have the disappointment we had with half the bands we like. They're not gonna give a shit how Axl sounded in 2025.

Interesting. Makes sense, I guess. They don't listen to albums. But ask them anyway - I'm curious. Maybe they do know Appetite, since there are shirts of the album cover. Maybe they do know what's on that album specifically. Of course, 98% of what they probably listen to from GnR on Spotify is from Appetite.

Hopefully they don't find the band from the Dirty Harry movie. The band looked like idiots there.

If there's one think Axl specializes in, it's releasing nothing.

year in, year out.

If at some point in the future AFD is no longer regarded as an essential rock album, blow up the planet already.

The AI version will be awesome!

Since Axl doesn't want to release new music anymore, GPT & Roses will be happy to do it.

My son had no idea, he only listens to the curated rock playlists or the "This is"

Daughter knew the album name and that it was a "classic" but had no idea which songs were on it.

Future generations do not think of music the same way we do/did. It isn’t an event the way an album release was for us.

I can’t even take AFD today. I still like raw albums from newer bands now, but AFD is played out.

Absolutely, the young people today also consume way more music than we ever did. Not saying they are the norm....but my kids and their friends all listen to everything. Past bit, my daughter has gone to see Olivia Rodriqo, Pitbull, Stephen Sanchez, Nickelback, Motley Crue, Zak Brown, Morgan Wallen, Nicki Minaj and going to the Volbeat/3 days grace show next week. If they like only a few of the songs, they just go and find a way to enjoy themselves.

It is a really odd to me. I would never pay 100 bucks to go see bands I don't really know.

Music might have never been in a better place. Us old F*ckers on here mostly long for the days of the album/tour cycle, but kids are paying for and enjoying music like never before.

Yup. I get it, but it kind of pisses me off when an artist releases 5 songs off their upcoming album before the album is released. They have to nowadays. But for me, I like to hear the entire thing for the first time. Since I'm paying for the streaming subscription, I can still choose to listen to only the songs I really like, but there is nothing like that first listen. As for concerts, I'm with you. If I only know 3-4 songs, I mentally will check out or think about leaving or why did I go in the first place.

How will future generations view Guns n' Roses?

As a missed opportunity, they could have achieved a lot more. Instead, they'll be looked upon as the Sex Pistols of hard rock: 1 killer album (along with 2 albums that should have been combined into a killer follow up...hey, now there's an idea for a possible thread here!)

The future is already here. The are like the Rolling Stones of their generation.

I think their success has been mystified or glorified. Yes, they were extremely successful but it was for a very short period of time from Appetite until the end of the Illusions tour. There is very little music from them collectively as Guns n Roses.

Yep. We're already 2 generations past. They're the last great rock'n'roll band.

They won’t care and they shouldn’t
They will notice great great grandma and Axl dressed the same

Music won’t even be around in the future it will be like books now- nobody cares.
Music is already almost dead

Life is now about finding some nice hiking boots -exploring the wilderness in OC-San Diego- and 1 hour out of Vegas

If they’re anything like the kids I saw the other night at this tour “find a way to enjoy themselves” is sending 50 snap chats showing them in the crowd at a concert and sending text/ snap chats messages back and forth during songs they don’t know… and songs they do know for that matter.

Somebody tapped into LAglamrockers account! There is no way this is him writing that!

If our man has got the Sunday blues, I say we all take the next flight to LA to cheer him up!

Say your prayers, take your vitamins brother! Wear your Macho Man shirt, listen to Babylon AD and Hardline, grab a burger and hit the strip club. Rock & Roll will live forever!
