Same day Slave To The Grind debuted at #1..that’s kind of funny
Ballad 1st video was best choice..the high school girls loved them..every band wanted to be Firehouse..Love Of A Lifetime
Good Guys Wear Black or heavy song would have not worked at all..been just another band with maybe 3 spins on Headbangers Ball
Congratulations on the anniversary!

In all seriousness,
I think people watching the video and the look of the band, anyone would realize that the band had rockers too and if they knew nothing about them they could have even assumed that it wasn't the first single/video even though it was,
and that they just never heard or saw the first,
remember there was no internet to search,
I personally remember reading about them and it was always stated that "All New Generation" was the first , the magazines never updated or corrected that change and I'm pretty sure after "I Hate Kissing You Goodbye" they also wrote that "All New Generation" was gonna be re-released ,
and the reason given was because they didn't do a video for it the first time ,
I always had that impression that "All New Generation" was the first single and that it was re-released after "I Hate Kissing You Goodbye" and there is no other way I would have had that impression if I didn't read it somewhere back then,
This site is the first place I ever heard that "I Hate Kissing You Goodbye" was first .
And it didn't hurt them because it was successful enough on Dial MTV, and they would have gotten the same fans who are into power ballads anyway

Just read this today! Great story. Big question is why did it end so damn soon? Seemed the band was doing well enough to at least finish The All New Generation video/single.
