Saw this early this morning... and seeing updates now...

The reports say 242 were on board, and there is 1 survivor! Word is he was sitting in seat 11A, and literally walked away from the crash! #WTF

They are interviewing the guy in the Hospital... just has some cuts and scrapes and was on his cell phone leaving the scene! Damn!

But... it was full of fuel, and crashed 30 seconds after take-off, and took out another 50 and counting on the ground!

Damn... crazy sh!t!

Said he phoned / texted his Dad as they were about to take off, then called his Dad 2 minutes later and said: "Our plane just crashed, but I am alive!"

The footage looks like they were landing, it wasn’t like a nosedive from 10,000 ft … I would’ve thought more than one person would’ve survived that crash but I’m a f’n moron.

Awful awful way to go because for about 1 minute, you know you are about to die.

Found this year’s Halloween costume.

What’s awful about plane crashes is that it’s families who are all together. A doctor, his wife and 3 kids all died on there. A whole family gone.

This guy was sitting next to his brother. He survived, his brother didn't. Can't imagine how that must feel

I thought it would be a 737 Max because they had a lot of issues with that one (two crashes, whistle blowers coming forward. etc) but it was a 787, first crash for this one (hopefully not a start of a trend!)

Still safer than driving folks!!

Just watched a video from a retired pilot and he thinks the co pilot instead of putting the landing gear up hit the flaps lever in the wrong direction instead and the flying pilot had maybe 5 seconds to fix the mistake. That's the scariest thing about flying to me still, one mistake by experienceed pilots and it's over Johnny.

Over 5 million flights on that type of aircraft without a fatal incident before this crash. I'll take those odds

A passenger who reportedly flew on the doomed Air India jet just two hours before it crashed, killing more than 200 people, posted shocking video in which he says “nothing” was working in the cabin — including lights, air conditioning and the seatback display screens.

The eerie footage was purportedly taken inside the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on its second-to-last flight as it flew from Delhi to Ahmedabad, hours before it crashed shortly after takeoff en route to London’s Gatwick Airport.

“The AC is not working at all. And, as usual, your TV screens are also not working, neither is this button for calling the cabin crew,” Vatsa can be heard saying in the video.

He also complained of “sweating like hell” due to a lack of AC, adding that this was why “Air India is considered one of the worst airlines in the world.”

Other apparent faults, such as loose parts under the seats, broken fittings, and potential signs of a lack of maintenance, are also visible in the videos.

Those in the video are not Indian and it's from Sweden not Canada. But it's bandy indeed.
