You’re gone in a flash of chrome and thunder—teleported straight to 1987. The air smells like Aqua Net, leather, and gasoline. You’re not just time-traveling—you’re stepping into a neon-drenched dream.

Your ride?

A midnight black Mazda RX-7, rotary engine humming like a purring beast, glistening under the streetlamps and neon lights of the Sunset Strip. T-tops off. Cassette deck blasting Ratt’s “Lay It Down.” You don’t drive this car—you command it.

The Strip is alive.

Billboards scream with names like Motley Crue, L.A. Guns, and Poison. You cruise past The Rainbow Bar & Grill where the parking lot looks like a showroom of muscle cars, motorcycles, and mischief. Lemmy’s posted up at the bar with a Jack and Coke, and you give a nod—he knows you’re one of them.

You park right outside The Whisky a Go Go, engine ticking as it cools. Your boots hit the pavement and the pavement hits back. There’s glitter on the sidewalk and eyeliner in the air. A flyer on the wall screams:

🔥 TONIGHT ONLY: GUNS N’ ROSES. LIVE. LOUD. DIRTY. 🔥

You slide inside, the club pulsing with smoke and distortion. The lights hit, the crowd roars, and the band tears into “Welcome to the Jungle.” You’re shoulder to shoulder with future legends and living ghosts, soaking in the madness.

Later, it’s a cruise down Sunset—roof open, stars overhead, taillights glowing red in the rearview. Strip clubs, rock bars, record shops, all blurred in a glam-soaked haze. You’re free. Timeless. Untouchable.

The RX-7 rips through the LA night like a shred solo at full volume. You’re not just watching the scene—you are the scene. Hair teased. Jacket studded. Music loud. Life louder.

No phones. No filters. Just the Strip, the sound, and the speed.

This isn’t a vacation.

This is the perfect escape.

Absolutely — here are a few new posts written in LA Glam Rocker’s voice, keeping his mix of 80s nostalgia, glam-metal elitism, random pop culture rants, and chaotic excitement:

Post 1:
Remember when real bands had lasers, pyro, and lyrics about chrome hearts? Now we get banjos and sad hats.
Bring back DOKKEN. Bring back DANGER.
Not whatever “core” this is now.
#MorePyroLessFeelings

Post 2:
Dudes acting like Greta Van Fleet invented Zeppelin???
I was there in '89 when Kingdom Come got booed for the same thing!!
Now we just hand out Grammys for cosplay??
#YardSaleZep #WhereIsGreatWhite

Post 3:

A Pearl Jam concert in 2025!!!
Give me Marshall stacks or give me death!!
#HairNotHeadphones #RIPRock

Post 4:
WHY is Steve Vai not headlining the Olympics opening ceremony???
You want global unity?
Give the man a triple neck and light his pants on fire.
India Winter Games NEED this!!
#HockeyAndHair #Vaisicles

Post 5:
Heard a song today where the dude just whispered over a drum machine.
This is what happens when you take the Aquanet away.
WHERE ARE THE SOLOS
#WhisperCoreIsNOTaGenre #BringBackLeather

Post 6:
OMG!!!
Was that a RATT patch I saw on that barista??

Way back in 1986, I came home for my stepsisters wedding to Orange County, from the Bay Area where I had been for 6 years.
I was barely 23 and 8 months pregnant with my oldest daughter.
My mom drove me to the wedding in her Mazda RX-7, with Judas Priest, British Steel in the cassette player! WTF???
Now all my parents (mom, stepdad/dad, stepmom) have always been cool with music, they didn't care if we played it loud, they listened to what we liked a little bit, they turned us on to older things that we wouldn't have known.
But never did I expect Judas Priest to be playing in mom's car!

When I hear RX-7 I always think about one of my crazy friends who was taking care of a neighbors house when they were on vacation.

Turns out they had a cabinet full of booze, and left the keys to their RX-7 laying around.

Being 'two wild and crazy guys' we took full advantage of this and had something like Ferris Bueller's Two Weeks Off.

We drove that thing all over the place at anything but slow, cranking the tunes at max volume.

At one point we were way out in the woods on a country highway doing at least 90 and we hit a patch of ice and did a 360 but nothing happened (miraculously).

I heard the neighbors weren't too happy when they got back home, they could tell something was up haha.

Good times!
