"In the Meantime" is killer song.........but I remember buying and being totally disappointed by the rest of the CD? Aside from the cover of "Cruel to be Kind", the rest was throwaway filler.

Did I miss something?, or is my 30 year old assessment of the album correct?

No. Do they even have any other songs? They were emblematic of the mid-90s alternative OHW phase that killed the movement by the millennium.

Exact same game goes for their 2nd record "The Chinese Album". I bought it, terrible, but "Carry On" is an excellent tune. https://youtu.be/rXoBfJEcsfw

So...after each band does their 1 song, what happens?

Technically, EMF had a second top 40 single with “Lies”. So both bands have two hits each. I remember first hearing “In the Meantime” on my local rock station back when it first came out, and it’s a great song, BTW.

The best instance of an artist being self-aware about this was when Robert Tepper played the Whisky a few years ago... right before No Easy Way Out he said, "This is what you paid your $20 for..."

Shouldn't Spacehog and EMF be opening for a 90s band with at least 2 or 3 songs people might remember?

That's a cover? I know Nick Lowe had a song of the same name, but it is a different song. I like their records, not great, but some good stuff on them.

Saw Lit in scorching heat a few weeks ago and it was like can you please just play the one song so we can find some shade.
