Being that F.U.CK. had an anniversary yesterday, where would you rate this song? Chorus is really solid, lyrics are your typical Sammy non sensical junk.

One of my top Van Hager songs

At the time, there was a ton of hype about what a great job Andy Johns did on the drums and guitar sound. I remember the world radio premiere of Poundcake and their manager hyping how awesome it was, and it was - for about 30 seconds. Then Spazzy started spazzing, and... there were some cool riffs, and it rocked harder overall than OU812, but by this time the tequila salesman had infected the band like a hantavirus and turned the whole thing into a nothing muffin. All that's left to say about FUCK is when Velvet Revolver played Runaround during VHs HoF induction, they totally mocked it, especially the stupid sing-song chorus. The album and tour were still a success, but creatively, the dream was over.

One of the 3 or 4 best tunes off of that album. First chord is just slamming, too. This, Pleasuredome, Judgment Day and Right Now are my favorites. Top of the World and Poundcake some next. I dislike In 'n Out and Spanked. Runaround is "meh." Man On a Mission starts out cool but never comes together. 316 is outstanding (and I can play it well).

Yeah, the record does sound great.

But a good producer would have told them to stop messing around and write a song. This is a bunch of bullshit.

I think he was talking about the band.

The is one of the better songs on F.U.C.K.

It's a decent song, but I think they did a better version of it on Balance with Aftershock.

It's better than Spanked and worse than Judgement Day.

It has such a van hagar-ish name.

An excellent song, it's one of the album's best.

He’s got to be up there with Martin Birch for sheer output

Yeah in hindsight people seemed to believe the hype. The album may have bees sonically impressive but for me personally it does not hit the heights of classic VH albums even in that department. The song writing is not really there. Right Now was a classy attempt at a mainstream hit even if it failed to hit Top-40. All in all it's a pretty boring album to listen to. You'd never think Templeman had a role in making this. I think he mentioned he wasn't happy about his involvement in his book. And Eddie didn't write really memorable stuff without DLR around IMO.

That being said I always liked the chorus of Dream is Over in all its` simplicity. One of the very few things written by Hagar that does not put me off.

5 out of 5. It’s better than anything off ALAE or anything Dave’s done since.

F.U.C.K is decent but I don't recall this song at all.

I listened to it again and I'm pretty sure I will forget soon enough. Not awful, but 2 out of 5.

AOR Van Hagar was good. Never understood the hate for OU812, it has got some very good songs. Unlike the next 2 albums that had only few gems, the rest being average or below average.

AND I do not understand at all the love for the songs Right Now and/or Can't Stop Loving You. Both being very generic songs made just to get some airplay.
For example Love Comes Walking In or When It's Love are way better as for what comes to the song writing.

The best song of the F.U.C.K. = 316
The best song of the Balance = Amsterdam

Agree with the fact that the Van Hagar decline was linear, with 5150 being the peak. OU812 wasn't as well-produced as FUCK, but the song quality was way better. Hagar the horrible himself admits that they had nothing written when they started FUCK, and it sure sounds like it. It's a bunch of riffs searching for a song.

I just turned on FUCK. OU812 does not start out with the bang of Poundcake and Judgement Day. Just skip over Spanked and you're good to go for the rest of the album. OU812 has Cabo Wabo and that horrible blues cover. It is mostly Pop with little Punch.

Second best Hagar album after 5150. Production is very good and fit in with that big early 90s hard rock sound and Ed was inspired by his new guitar tone and setup. One of the best tracks on that album for sure. The newest remaster does a great job in balancing the sound at a higher volume where the original would distort a bit.

All of this, except I haven't compared the CDs back to back. This song should have been bigger.
