Because he's dead and no one told him. Weekend at Wiggy's, er Donny's?

Theres a recent interview with Jeff Pilson on YouTube and he tells about how Don was on so many prescription drugs back in the days, its a miracle he's alive now.
He looks pathetic in that video. He should be ashamed accepting money for that show.

I never understood why anyone would go see a show with Don on vocals, it's several steps past horrible.
haha, Lynch has a 'Heavy Psych Sounds' T-shirt!! I got 4 different ones a few months ago (but not that one)

"He should be ashamed accepting money for that show.???"
The people show up and pay... he draws people otherwise no one would book him. It's almost a chicken or egg scenario.
I'd say Blame the promotors
Still can't believe Jon Levin is hanging in there... he's a great player and he should be in a much better organization. Problem is they are all dying out... Theres fewer and fewer acts that are still doing good business.
It's a tough call...
Why did Jack Russell get pulled off the stage, but Dokken doesn't? Crazy scenario...

He was a fucking lawyer before this. He's live action roleplaying as a real metal guitarist. He's got all the street cred of John5.

Actually Don is less retarded looking of those two.
Who wants to see some bleached 70 year old meat head wanking to guitar like that? Fucking horrible.

I thought seriously about going to see them when they played the Arcada last year. Possibly last opportunity to see them and all that.
Two minutes on YouTube of the previous months' gigs solved that real quick. And I'm sure it's worse now.

On one hand, I have to respect anyone wanting to go out and do their thing...
On the other.... this is a F#@king pathetic joke! Meaning Don Dokken... all day.
Lynch still rips, puts in the work, clearly giving the effort and could do this another many years. He's also taken care of himself better than most in the way of health.
Don... lol... what a Fing joke!
Literally sitting on the drum riser like a drunk old Uncle/Grandpa, as 1,000 people stare at him while he casually drinks and does his signature air-guitar.
Voice wise... Don is THE worst live singer, worst live performer of the entire era hands down! Anyone who doesn't agree, is a blind and deaf jackhole!
And to think this train-wreck is likely getting $25-30k and more for this.

Don Dokken is 71 years old. I can see how some will give him a pass for sounding like garbage and giving a show that's shit.
But look at somebody like Klaus Meine. He's 77 years old and sounds better than Dokken does, also puts on a better show.
Don looks absolutely terrible up there!
Does he not have enough cash to call it a day and stay home?
He's really doing a disservice to his legacy, or whatever's left of it.

EVERYTHING you just wrote.
"""""""""""""Does he not have enough cash to call it a day and stay home?"""""""""""""""
This is the part that's mind-boggling...
When he does interviews, he always brags how much money he has, houses, investments, etc...
One would be lead to believe, he's loaded... if so... then why do this? It's horrific...
But, select rockers bullsh!tting the public about how well they are doing is nothing new...
In the end, we don't see Sixx, Lee, Rose, Slash, Ulrich, Bret, or any of the guys who ARE loaded, ever speak about money.
It's usually the lower tier guys, trying to flex and sound important.

Don't forget, Don totally SAVED the Scorps back in 1982:
After losing his voice during the writing of the album,[8] lead singer Klaus Meine had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords and was uncertain as to whether or not he would be able to record. Demos of the material were recorded with singer Don Dokken from Dokken, a then-unknown band from Los Angeles.[9] However, none of those recordings are featured on the album and Dokken is only credited with backing vocals. The only thing more embarrassing then Don making an ass of himself in front of a live crowd are...
..... the morons trying justify it, or saying "He sounds fine", blah, blah, blah.
No he doesn't... it's shameful, much like the final year or so of Jack's gigs!

What I don't understand is why is Don still doing the stuff with Lynch? He made a big deal in interviews last year thst he hated doing it. Something about there is no chemisty with George and it's not fair to Jon Levin. That was also in his interviews were he claims he was screwed by the rest of Dokken over song writing credits. He pretty much said he wrote almost everything on Under Lock and Key. Pilson's reaction to hearing that was pretty funny.
While Don has never been the most exciting front man to watch live, to me he was one of the best to hear because he had a distinctive voice, good range and didn't try to over sing. And in Dokken you had Pilson as the showman, Lynch for the guitar geekS, Brown for the crazy so Don wasn't needed to act over the top.
It is pretty sad to watch Don these days. It seems like he is losing a battle with depression and keeps getting worse.

What’s even better is when an interviewer asks him to clarify such claims, and then he follows up with something to the effect of, “Well…I wrote all the hits.” Then they ask about a specific hit, ie “It’s Not Love”, and he answers, “Well…I didn’t write that one - that was the rest of the band.”
He’s from the Sammy Hagar school of talking bullshit.

Sounds like Don had a good time with Sammy's bandmate on the Monsters of Rock tour:
"I’m playing with Van Halen with Dokken on Monsters of Rock tour. So, Eddie and I used to sit up late at night because by then he had Wolfgang and I had my son Tyler, and we smoked and we drank on the stairwells because we couldn’t be in the room with the kids. We’d just sit up and talk guitars and amps, and, ‘How the hell did we get from Whiskey to here?’ – stadiums.”"
I'm glad that even though Wolfgang was still 2 years away from being conceived, Eddie was decent enough not to smoke or drink around him.

I do feel bad for Don though regarding his right hand I believe it is. The one the doctors permanently fucked up while doing a back operation of all things. They literally paralyzed half his goddamn arm and he can no longer play guitar at all. I realize that he didn't play on the records and he isn't really known as a guitarist, but from a few accounts I've heard that he can (or used to be able to) play decently. That is a shitty thing to have happen and in interviews he is clearly bummed out about it.

Never mind that George is also out of tune a few times in that final run.
