The guitar tech in my local shop used to be Mick's (and Brian May's) tech several years ago. He told me last year Mick wasn't doing well and it was just a matter of time. Glad I saw him back in '87 with the Brian Howe Bad Company. RIP Mick

It's a real shame. Dave Davies of the Kinks and Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden might not have been the same as they were before they had strokes, but they recovered to the point where they could still play and work as musicians. Apparently, Mick Ralphs suffered so much damage from his that it wasn't really possible for him to continue his career.

Dave Davies of the Kinks and Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden might not have been the same as they were before they had strokes, but they recovered to the point where they could still play and work as musicians. Apparently, Mick Ralphs suffered so much damage from his that it wasn't really possible for him to continue his career.

I'm a Maiden nutswinger, but Nicko's playing since his stroke was dreadful. Kudos to him for coming back but he should've bowed out gracefully instead of being pretty much shitcanned last year for being so out of time and out of tempo.

Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest singers in rock history. Whoever the schmuck was who they went out and recorded stupid 80s ballads with isn't a pimple on his ass.

So you think so much of Mick Ralphs that you think he'd work with a "schmuck"? I'm sure we're all aware that Paul Rodgers was a great singer. And this show as I said was fine.
