apparently he was bedridden since itCrankerBait wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:45 am Mick Ralphs was one of my favorite guitarists. Very tasteful player who rarely overplayed.

I don't think he ever really got over the stroke he had years ago.
It's a real shame. Dave Davies of the Kinks and Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden might not have been the same as they were before they had strokes, but they recovered to the point where they could still play and work as musicians. Apparently, Mick Ralphs suffered so much damage from his that it wasn't really possible for him to continue his career.Black Stuff wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 6:35 amapparently he was bedridden since itCrankerBait wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:45 am Mick Ralphs was one of my favorite guitarists. I'm a Maiden nutswinger, but Nicko's playing since his stroke was dreadful. Kudos to him for coming back but he should've bowed out gracefully instead of being pretty much shitcanned last year for being so out of time and out of tempo.CrankerBait wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 11:52 amIt's a real shame. Sorry you feel that way, but they were fine when I saw them at Wembley Arena in 1987.Bono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 1:28 pmI'm not... they fucking stunk.Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 1:25 pm The guitar tech in my local shop used to be Mick's (and Brian May's) tech several years ago. Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest singers in rock history. Whoever the schmuck was who they went out and recorded stupid 80s ballads with isn't a pimple on his ass.Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Thu Jun 26, 2025 4:19 pmSorry you feel that way, but they were fine when I saw them at Wembley Arena in 1987.Bono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 1:28 pmI'm not... they fucking stunk.Dyslexicheart wrote: ↑Mon Jun 23, 2025 1:25 pm The guitar tech in my local shop used to be Mick's (and Brian May's) tech several years ago. So you think so much of Mick Ralphs that you think he'd work with a "schmuck"? I'm sure we're all aware that Paul Rodgers was a great singer. And this show as I said was fine.Bono Nettencourt wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 2:30 pmPaul Rodgers is one of the greatest singers in rock history.
