Sure 7 years old but the band sounds great. Tempest aged 10x better than JBJ. Solo is still one of the best of that genre, the Tone like the OG Boston records.
Was it label or decision band decision to end their singles run in the US? Superstitious hit the airwaves in 88 and was their last US hit.

Good try to downgrade Europe’s success.
Everybody in the world recognizes ”The Final Countdown”.
The follow up singles ”Carrie” & ”Rock The Night” was also bigger than Bang Tango’s & Danger Danger’s entire catalogues.

Kee Marcello must be one of the best replacements in hard rock. Norum is a decent but generic guitarist and boring on stage, Kee wiped the floor with him. Also, the best two Europe albums are with Kee... coincidence? I like TFC and War of Kings too, but the filler is too obvious on them. I understand getting childhood buddy Norum back instead of c0kehead Marcello though. Good job they didn't bring back Niemistö for the reunion. Tony's drumming was replaced on WoT anyway as he couldn't keep time and blew off rehearsals and was reportedly devastated when a journalist told him.

Key Marcello solo for ya. This solo no matter who in Europe plays it, is so rich in to e and melodic. The band was lucky enough to have two GREAT guitar players who could replicate it.

Europe are better than the majority of their glam, hair band farming peers: Motley Crue, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Ratt, WASP, Stryper, Dokken, Poison, Tesla, Great White, White Lion, Warrant, Slaughter.
I’m not sure if they are better than Bon Jovi in songwriting but musicianship wise I tend to think they are better and JT has aged way better than JBJ. Europe were still damn good songwriters.

Kee Marcello must be one of the best replacements in hard rock.
We were on the Helsinki-Stockholm ferry last summer and there was a troubadour called Patrick Linman, who has been involved with his son's band Sturm Und Drang as a songwriter and manager. Anyway we got to talking and Patrick said that he's friends with Kee and has some project going on with him. Who knows...
