Short version... a 20 year old kid, set a brush fire to lure Fire-Fighters...

Once they arrived, he was hidden in the distance, in bushes, and opened fire on them.

Several shot, 2 dead, others injured, etc...

What kind of POS does this? Who raised this guy?

This is equally as nuts as that Luigi guy, also a POS, and the idiot who bombed a Fertility clinic. And for what...?

Sniper suspect identified in 'shocking' Idaho firefighter ambush: Live updates

A firefghter was fighting for his life Monday while authorities in Idaho were trying to determine why a sniper ignited a blaze before ambushing and fatally shooting two responding firefighters.

The sniper was found dead following a shootout with police, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said. The wounded firefighter was in stable condition late Sunday, Norris said.

The sniper was identified as 20-year-old Wess Roley, a law enforcement official confirmed to USA TODAY.

Norris said law enforcement received a 911 call Sunday afternoon about a brush fire and were notified a short time later that firefighters were taking gunfire. Officers locked down nearby neighborhoods and hunted for the shooter in hilly terrain covered with thick brush while smoke billowed from the growing fire. Officers exchanged gunfire with the shooter, Norris said.

The discovery of the shooter's body on Canfield Mountain, a popular hiking destination outside the city of Coeur d’Alene, culminated six hours of chaos that saw about 300 local, state and federal officers flock to the area.

“This was a total ambush," Norris said at a briefing late Sunday. "These firefighters did not have a chance.

One of the slain firefighters worked at Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, and the other worked for the Coeur D’Alene Fire Department. The wounded firefighter also works for the Coeur D’Alene department.

Records show Roley most recently lived in Phoenix, Arizona, but appears to have family in Idaho about an hour’s drive from the location of the Sunday shooting.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office has not released a possible motive in the shooting.

It's less about the parents than it is the impact of ADHD mood-altering drugs . . . and then what happens when those drugs are suddenly taken way (for any number of reasons). This is the epidemic at the center of almost all shootings that involve young people.

Somehow we all knew who was raising him before we even saw the picture. Maybe ICE should change who they are detaining.

Overall, sure. In an individual case, not always. In this case, maybe but we don't know, and possibly both:

Court documents obtained by CNN reveal that Roley’s mother, Heather Lynn Cuchiara, sought an order of protection against his father, Jason Roley, in 2015. In her filing, she accused her then-husband of abuse, stating he had threatened her, pushed her to the ground, and “punched several holes in the walls."

“He threatened to sit outside my house with a sniper rifle or burn my house down,” she wrote in the filing.

Increasingly the answer to "who is raising these punks?" is anything but the parents. Schools have taken a bigger role of the last decades. When a 13 year old can have sex changes without the consent or even knowledge of the parents, you can't argue otherwise.

Certainly one's household affects the minds of children but there's much more to it now
