Latest DLR photo…

Taken this week. I know he’s 70 but should he look 20 years older than that, unless something is wrong, which I hope is *not* the case. I was worried when he made his retirement announcement back in 21 and it was sort of cryptic that something might be going on.

It really does look like he’s aged 30 years since the last VH tour.

He doesn’t look great but does look like a lot of 70 year olds. The common folk. Often celebs have the means to look better longer.

It’s crazy how the general public becomes so weird and obsessed with older musicians and their looks. This is what happens when the artist or band keeps presenting older pictures of themselves online and people think that’s how they still look.

He didn’t look like that in May 2025.

I particularly like when Sludgers act like they're all married to Susanna Hoffs look-alikes.

Funny, I’ve been in this board 2 decades and maybe MAYBE have witnessed 1 or 2 guys post a pic of their lady. Don’t recall any of the women looking like prime Baywatch material. More liege Flying J material.

He looks like a train conductor for the local state fair.

If I had all that DLR money, the first thing that I’m doing is calling Brad Pitt’s plastic surgeon - dude is exactly nine years younger than Dave but he looks 25 years+ younger at least. Second thing I’m doing is buying some Bosley hair. Fix me up and let me go out looking great instead of the crypt keeper.

I think Dave tried the Bosley route a few years ago and it didn’t take. He’s probably needs to call Farrell and get a wig.

I saw a YouTube video on the pace of aging. Tons of internal factors (not talking cosmetic surgery, alcohol or drugs, etc.) influence the pace at which you appear to age and why two 70-year-olds might look 10-20 years apart in appearance. Genetics is wild. It's similar to why two guys taking gear and working out the same may not achieve the same level of muscularity. Sammy is 77 and not slender, but he looks younger than Dave. Supposedly, there are two age range milestones where we take considerable jumps in how we look aging. In the end, we're all fucked regardless.

We should also take into consideration...

50+ years of Smoking Pot on the regular, doing Cocaine in massive amounts and drinking Liquor. Roth doesn't strike me as a Beer guy either. It's Whisky and Tequila.

Also... it appears, that Roth NEVER had any real "work" done and it shows. He's def had his hair/scalp tweaked a few different ways, but not his face.

He's def never needed any lipo, as he's always been in tip-top shape as an active guy, hiking, biking, and the dancing all kept his body in good shape.

But his face... is Joan Rivers, minus the 20 plastic surgeries.

Speaking of current DLR as an old Rothtard I looked into his ticket sales for upcoming shows. Very underwhelming considering the good reception he got for the M3 show. Only 30 % or so sold for the concerts I checked. And the venues are pretty modest size. Guess the demand just isn't there.

M3 is for the most part - like a lot of these festival type events - already locked in with their basic draw, which M3 has dwindled over the years due to the fact they are bringing back the same 8-10 artists (every other year).

The same amount of people would have been there, with or without Roth! Anyone thinking he is the make or break on something like this, is HIGH. I'd venture to bet, they paid WAY MORE than his value... which I heard through the grapevine, they paid him $250,000.00.

Loverboy and/or Tom Keifer would have been just as solid of a headliner for about 1/5th that price.

Yeah I see that.

I wasn't being clear. What I meant with reception is that he did no harm on his reputation. He has been criticised a lot for his singing etc for the last 10 or 15 years. The videos of the show were mostly well liked and maybe could have made some people think again.

Yup, I get it...

But... I think him pulling the "I retired" and then showing up again also does a bit of disservice, as fans are sick of being toy'd with!

"This is your LAST chance to ever see us" blah, blah, blah... prices are all inflated, the fans drop huge chunks of cash on the "last ever tour tee/program/m&g", and then 3-5 years later... guess who's back?

Roth's performance at M3 was fine - for a 70 year old - but anyone thinking, wishing, or saying "He was the same ole' Dave" is HIGH AF!

Not dissing at all, I was a huge fan, but the Dave shtick grew very tired, very fast in the late 80's into the 90's, and not much he's done since compares to 1978-1988!

But... again, I understand the age factor is huge! Look at Ozzy. Legend... but a sad grim reality.

Watching those M3 videos I was just glad he wasn't terrible. Probably contradicting now myself but some of the ticket prices for his shows ARE hard to justify based on the videos.

Personally I thought it was the right move to retire and have no wish to see him live anymore. You are probably right him backing from the retirement announcement did no good.

The only positive I feel was that Dave actually still seems to enjoy to be up there. Paul Stanley at times looked as if he was about to burst in tears because of his own hopeless voice.

I really wonder what condition Ozzy would be in today if hadn't crashed that quad-bike in 2003 when he nearly died. It seems like that and the subsequent neck/back surgeries is what truly screwed him in the end.

I think he is a loner, I can't picture him with a dude, and Hagar or VH bros would have said something back in the 90's

I'm starting to think the days of guys our age buying tickets months and months in advance are gone. A combination of having seen everyone before, crazy ticket prices (particularly surge pricing when tickets are first available), and just live music taking a back seat to life just make it not as important.

When I was 15 the idea of being excited about a concert 6 months down the road and having tickets and talking to friends about it seemed pretty, but now? If I decide I am going to go, I'll buy tickets the day of a show. If I don't make it, it is not the end of the world.

The last few times I looked at tickets when they first went on sale it was irritating with the pre-pre-presale codes, followed by the pre-pre-sale code, then the regular pre-sale, and eventually general public. Usually the first "pre-sale" doesn't even sell the good seats so it's just a load of shit anyways. By the time the good seats are available they are all gone and on the 3rd party ticket sites.

I have literally found tickets on TickPick and StubHub for sale before any of the presales have even started.

Back in the day you would go to Ticketmaster wait outside until they opened at 10AM and got the best available seat at that time for the same price as everyone else.

So, I have chosen to fuck all that noise and just wait until the day of. I usually get a better deal and a better seat.
