ALL of this... Jizzy nails it!

I find it funny as well, seeing select bands/musicians boasting about their latest song/single/album on some random meaningless chart!

Then they share some random playlist where their song is wedged between Daughtry, Five Finger Death Punch and Ghost... and they're celebrating success!

He talks about musicians being liars and delusional... it's a pretty safe guess who 4-5 of these on-going offenders are! :D

I think we've discussed this before but I assume a label like Frontiers will pay someone like George Lynch a flat fee for each record he delivers to them and Lynch has to cover all the costs for recording it and deliver them the masters. Frontiers would own the masters and the only additional money Lynch would get is his publishing/streaming royalties thru ASCAP or BMI. So in effect it goes something like this:

Monday
Frontiers: Hey George, here's $15,000, how about you record us a new Lynch Mob record?
Lynch: Great I'll record it in my basement studio and I'll have it done tonight!

Tuesday
Frontiers: Hey George, Here's another $15,000, we need a new KXM record!
Lynch: You'll have it by the morning.

Wednesday
Frontiers: Hey George, we could really use a new Dirty Shirley record! Here's $10,000.
Lynch: Give me a couple hours!

Thursday
Frontiers: Hey George, how about a new Sweet/Lynch record? Here's $15,000.
Lynch: Sweet!

Friday
Frontiers: Been awhile since we've had a new Lynch Mob record, here's $15,000.
Lynch: You'll have it by Monday!

Stevie, does this seem about right? Am I missing anything? How much do you reckon they pay for these records?

Whose house is this?
Is this like Beverly Hills Cop? Record this episode while owners are away? Big fan that’s awesome!

Are there still record deals for anyone that isn’t Miley Cyrus, Beyoncé etc…..?
I’m sure any big advances went the way of the DoDo bird

What record labels are still out there offering aging artists old school record deals in 2025? Personally, to me the only metric that matters is reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify. The rest is all meaningless.

The big deals are still out there - Just not for rock.

A twenty-something I know got fronted a cool $mil for one record.

The way these small labels make money is they license it in about 30 countries. Hypothetically, let's say they collect $3-5k per country.

Thats how they do it.
