Was he doing outdoor shows?

It’s just too hot for outdoor shows for anyone over 30 … his audience is like 55+ .. too hot.

Went to Def Leppard/Tom Morrello outside last night and was 95 when Morello came on. That is just about my limit. You gotta be smart..dont' get smashed and drink lots of water.

Dumb to cancel a tour this late for sure as the heat is not really sneaking up on anyone.

He' does lots of sheds and other outdoor shows.
He might be afraid of what wind can do at an outdoor gig.

I played the Arizona State fair in October last year. AFTER DARK when we went on, it was still 106 degrees.

Nobody was there. Too fucking hot, even for Arizonans. It was sort of comical. We had a huge stage with maybe 2500 chairs set up in front of it and a giant space behind that.

There were about 50 people in those chairs.

Don't care. Got paid.

...and got to do some antiquing. Phx is surprisingly good for vintage goods.

I love Phoenix, we drove around it in the winter of 1992 on our way to California to pick up a Mexican chick … it looked very nice and clean from a distance.

The planes were flying next to the highway, i have it on VHS … then we almost died from carbon monoxide poisoning, I saved 8 people because I woke up but I don’t consider myself a hero anymore.

Playing in 100 + degrees has got to be brutal, paid or not. The Def Leppard and Tom Morello show being referenced was in Ottawa, Ontario. Unlike the dry heat of Arizona, we're talking well into the 90s and humid as fuck, and a GA festival audience jammed tightly together. We always used to get hot and humid spells in the summer in Ontario and Quebec, but now there seem to be a lot more extremely hot and humid days with heat waves lasting longer. They appear as early as May and as late as September, which is also a little different than it was in the 1980s and 1990s. We used to get the occasional tornado watch or twister when I was young, but now we seem to get multiple ones each summer, as if the Tornado Alley that used to peter out in northern Michigan, northern Ohio, and southern Ontario has been extended east and north. BTW, it was at Ottawa Bluesfest about 15 years ago that Cheap Trick's stage collapsed during a sudden summer storm when the wind went from 0 to 60 mph is under a minute. Anyway, as I get older I prefer outdoor shows in late spring or fall. I don't want to drop $150 or $200 to sweat my sack off.
