Both better than I remember.
Ace has some great solos and good songs.
What happened?
Bob Kulick rips on Paul’s album.
Top 2 of the 4 in my opinion.
Don’t think I’ve ever made it through Peter’s entire album
Ace
Paul
Gene
Peter

Both are great and I agree, they age well.

I've told this story before, but I'll tell it again...

I was working at a hipster second-hand record store in Chicago in the late '90s. I put on Ace's solo album and some customer got excited and asked what it was, thinking he just discovered some hot new indie band.

I can't describe the disappointment in his eyes when I showed him the album cover.

Paul's solo album was the demarcating line of when he grew a vagina.

He went from being the All American Man, to a lovelorn pussy, who wanted to "Hold Me Touch Me", and "Wouldnt you like to know me" and douche shit like that.

This would continue with every album. He sung all the pussy shit on Dynasty, everything on Unmasked was pussy, even on the heavy COTN, he was whinging about "I still love you", and the also heavy heavy LIU, when was puling about how "You never will find, another love like mine" when his bitch ran off for Dan Ackroyd. Of course, he only got pussier and pussier as the decade wore on.

So in short, Ace's rocks, and If you like Paul's solo, you also clean yourself nightly with Massingill.

Aces solo album is excellent from start to finish. Gene, Paul and Peter's solo albums were complete trash. I'm sure Gene and Paul thought they would leave him in their dust with their solo albums thinking it would convince him to stay in the band. Instead the exact opposite happened.

I agree.
They thought the drunk druggie would fail miserably.
Ace for the win….at that period of time.

Lover Her All I Can
C'mon and Love Me
Anything For My Baby

He was always lovelorn.

But, but.. on Crazy Nights he wanted to Bang Bang You with his Love Gun baby, and then on Smashes he wanted to put Sex in his Ex or something!

This is accurate but his 78 record is good.
This is the lane he should’ve stayed in

Both albums are some of the best in the catalog.

Peters might be the worst in the catalog. The Gene one is not as bad, but is still pretty much sucks.

Gene and Peter's solo albums are unlistenable, and both are easily in the bottom 5 of the entire KISS catalog.

Both albums are great. Gene's is also really good. That one has grown on me over the years. Some really interesting stuff on that album.

Peter Criss's is fine for what it is. An enjoyable listen.
