He got to go out on top with so many around to honor him. We should all be so lucky.

Sad but I knew it wasn’t going to be long. Sure glad I got to see the legend several times live. The voice of the greatest and most definitive heavy metal of all time and it isn’t even close. There will never be another

Feels like the time when I was 5 or 6?, my Dad brought me and my Great Grandfather (on my Mother side) to a Harlem Globetrotters game, I had a new Star Wars watch, and I "lost it" (probably just fell on the floor next to my seat), and for whatever reason I was scared to tell my Dad, which makes no sense?, because he's always been a very kind and calm person, but for some reason my 5/6 year old self thought he would be upset with me for losing the watch? Anyway, after the show/game, as we were leaving the parking lot, I finally told him, and with compassion in his voice he said, "you should have told me (I assume with the implication of "while we were still in the venue, not fighting traffic in the parking lot"), it probably just fell on the floor next to your seat, and I would have found it for you".

Grammys will definitely remember 2026 show
Taylor Swift will give amazing speech -mispronounce his name and sing the wrong song

Funny thing about mispronouncing his name... when Bush called him "Osburne" that is the correct pronunciation.LAglamrocker wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 12:06 pm Grammys will definitely remember 2026 show

Just... stunned. Everyone knew he was ill, but just over 2 weeks after the big event...
Thankfully he had the strength to get to it and through it. RIP

Wolfie can refuse to play an Ozzy song and bitch online about people who mention that it would be cool if he did.LAglamrocker wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 1:01 pm Will be interesting who gets the call to play the funeral

I agree. In spite of his health issues, I get the impression he was happy to hit the stage one last time. Just find it hard to believe it happened so quickly after his farewell show. Maybe he would have been bored off his tits, but the thing about this that makes me sad is that he didn't get to enjoy at least a couple of years of retirement back home in England.RicksPickWrangler wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 10:38 am He got to go out on top with so many around to honor him. Re: RIP … Ozzy Osbourne Dead at 76
Amazing career, surprised with his vices he made it to 76. Ozzy legitimately scared me as a kid in the 80’s with the whole “Suicide Solution” deal, shaved head and chest tattoos which l had never seen in my life.
Was not a fan of his recent music work within the last five years even though that was previous studio clips cropped to be pushed out. Always had a great lead guitarist and a great band behind him. My thoughts were that Sharon was going to definitely run out this reunion lineup into the states this fall. Either way, Ozzy was a TRUE legend and the ultimate pioneer of the rock/ metal lifestyle of complete drug and alcohol induced insanity. Hate Sharon or not, that woman supported the hell out of him when she didn’t have to.

Re: RIP … Ozzy Osbourne Dead at 76
It's so weird how I was just reading last week that Ozzy was gonna go to Switzerland to do assisted suicide and there were a bunch of rumors going around. If he did it will come out at some point but regardless I can't blame him if he did. I think if he could have he would have died on stage.
I think this next decade is gonna be rough for a lot of us. All the 1970s rock stars are now in their 70s or 80s. Alice Cooper is 77, Sammy Hagar is 77, Steven Tyler is 77, Gene Simmons is 75, Paul Stanley is 73, David Lee Roth is 70, Elton John is 78, Billy Joel is 76, Bob Seger is 80, Rolling Stones are 80+. It happens to every generation but we're just reaching that age where it's our turn next to lose the heroes we grew up with.
And the 80s hairband guys are all about 60+. Slash turns 60 tomorrow (7/23). A lot of those guys didn't necessarily take care of themselves either. Yet neither did Ozzy and he made it to 76, so that's more than many people thought he'd ever make.
It's gonna take a while to sink in that Ozzy isn't here.

Brilliant
Saw Hogan vs. One Man Gang at Selland. Years later, had tix to see Ozzy there. He canceled night of show.
Fast forward... Saw him at Rabobank in Bako with Mr. Zombie.

We already lost a bunch of them: Edward Van Halen, Allan Holdsworth, Chris Squire, Layne Staley, Mark Lanegan, Randy Rhoads, John Sykes, Prince, Neil Peart, Jeff Porcaro, Jaco Pastorius, Lyle Mays, and so many more.LitaStrauss wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 5:33 pm It happens to every generation but we're just reaching that age where it's our turn next to lose the heroes we grew up with.

It was a slow trickle of here and there. But now it's picking up the volume of more and more. Of course we lost many before but this is just an example, 2010 we lost Dio. 2015 we lost Lemmy along with a few others. 2020 we lost EVH and Neil Peart (as you mentioned) along with a few others. Now in 2025 we lost Ozzy. Shit! Unfortunately part of this life process. Fortunately, we still have the music and memories.Van Ailin' wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 6:01 pmWe already lost a bunch of them: Edward Van Halen, Allan Holdsworth, Chris Squire, Layne Staley, Mark Lanegan, Randy Rhoads, John Sykes, Prince, Neil Peart, Jeff Porcaro, Jaco Pastorius, Lyle Mays, and so many more.LitaStrauss wrote: ↑Tue Jul 22, 2025 5:33 pm It happens to every generation but we're just reaching that age where it's our turn next to lose the heroes we grew up with.
