I love that song,

But we must all behave our selves no fun "aloud" here anymore.

The band is very tight, but the vocals are on the annoying side and the pseudo-satanic costume gimmick is lame.

I like Ghost and this song, but I turned off the performance after about a minute.

I never watch Fallon, but I watched this performance on YouTube. I liked it better than the album cut.

But like HoldenSSV mentioned, I am burned out on the costumes. Tobias could continue with the theme musically and production-wise, but do something different with the clothes. I think Tobias' more minimal get up is heading in the right direction. The nameless ghouls in spandex, glitter skeletons looks like Party City. Dark outfits a la Lestat or something would be fine. Get rid of the masks.

These are new costumes and masks for Skeletal, for Impera they had steampunk type stuff. The costumes and masks this tour are stellar, looks super cool on stage. Tobias’s costumes this tour aren’t minimal, he simply said he was getting claustrophobic in the full masks. Ghost will never perform without costumes and masks

Exactly. Ghost are a billion times better than Kiss, both musically and visually. No contest

Hilariously bad vocals. Makes emo band vocalists sound like Rob Halford.

I have to wonder if the 6th grade KISS fan version of me was half as annoying as the middle-aged Ghosttards of today are.

They seem to NEED validation from everyone else that is OK to like this band. Very, very childish. WGAF If other people like them? We’re all aware of them by now. There are plenty of 5th-gen gothy kids into it that they aren’t going away any time soon, so don’t worry so much.

Stop with the proselytizing already. It only makes people not want to like them. How funny is it that Ghost fans make the exact same mistake that pushy Christians do?

Your post is lame. Everyone attending the sold out tour disagrees with you, all ages are being represented at the shows, from little kids to 80 yr olds.

My version of Ghost reality:

- Costumes are a shtick. They were with KISS and they are with Ghost.
- The band is tight as fuck, but Tobias’ vocals are the weakest link. It’s a fact. He seems like a good dude though. And he has a vision for the band.
- A lot of catchy songs, but how many albums can you put out with the exact same pseudo-Satanic gimmick?
- Those of us who got into KISS back in the 70s did so because we were kids and got hooked by the gimmick. If you’re a Ghost nut swinger and call their shows “rituals” and consume all the lore, you are still in adolescence. If you like the BOC/Sabbath to glammy rock tunes, and don’t give a shit about costumes, I can respect that.

I love Ghost. Seen them 3 times and screwed out of a 4th appearance. I think they put on a hell of a show. All that said, I'll at the beer store the other day wearing my recent tour shirt and the guy at the register asks if I went to one one of the shows. I tell him yeah. He's actually wearing a Ghost cross logo earring. So I ask has he seen them yet and he says 'No, I haven't been to a ritual yet.' And it was instant douche chills. They're a rock band, a really, really good one, IMO. And I can appreciate the costumes and the gimmick. But that shit was cringe coming from a grown ass dude.

The fans take things more seriously than the band. I've seen enough clips where Tobias (in character) is saying goofy/silly stuff. Their YouTube channel has that little "series" where it's all kind of comedic. Then you have people like the beer store guy on some people on this board, who are the equivalent of KISSFAQ members.

Exactly. After the first time I saw them I could tell they were in on joke, if you will. All anyone has to do is watch Rite Here Rite Now and see they're having fun with it with the backstory stuff. Tobias would probably have been good as a pro wrestling personality. Same as pro wrestling where you have to suspend disbelief for the moment. Some people can't go back to normal it seems.

Another difference to KISS. And I was a big ass KISS freak until around Y2K. Ghost is satire or parody (whichever) and has fun with the gimmick. As a fan, I could do without. Even with some hokey lyrics, the songs are well-crafted. Gene and Paul always gave trope-ish interviews from the 70s thru now, and acted too damn serious about their place and significance to music history. Yeah, they were around for 50 years, but most adults quit taking them seriously.
