I was there. I was 12 years old and to this day it's still the best show I've ever seen.

How do certain portions of the fan base listen to recordings like this and come away from it going “That Mike Anthony was never any good. Ed really carried that guy.”
The Edtards are just as stupid as the KISStards.

Nope. Shreveport, Louisiana in '80.

As much as an "Edtard" that I am, I always cringed when the topic of Michael not being any good came up. All 4 of the original line-up were absolutely perfect for that band in my opinion.

Same. It’s always been very cringe.

Plot twist - they needed MA more for his vocals live, because Mr. Bozdee-bop was too busy schuckin' and jivin' to do much singin', and it only got worse as the years went on.

I never saw classic VH, but I saw the EEAS tour, and thats what Sheehan was doing.I think he sung more than Roth did.

There are a group of us out here who have ears and actually listen to the band, MA and what Mike brought to the band. We understand how good and how important he was from the beginning. His bass playing, harmonies, stage presence and personality were all equally important. Then there are the rest of you, who chose to let Ed and Dave take turns going balls deep on you. Bareback.

Hmmm... didn't notice that as much, IMO Roth displayed a renewed interest in singing the songs proper on the EEAS tour. On 1984 he wasn't even pretending to try.
