See so many rag on the woman, and I simply dont get it. If it had not been for her being a bitch, chances are many would be talking about if Ozzy could make it as a solo artist. She had to deal with a record companys that were pretty much all men. She got to Deal with ozzy doing his best to kill himself with drinking and drugs.

Yep she nailed Randy Rhodes, gotta wonder how many times Ozzy got caught with a groupie. I just have my doubts that any one else but sharon trying to help ozzy with his solo stuff, and keep him alive, would of failed.

Is she as real bitch. Yes, yes she is. Its just what Ozzy really needed to keep going, and keep breathing. Was she perfect? Far from it, but how would anyone be trying to deal with Ozzy Osborne. Think we are all lucky Ozzy was smart enough to realize how important she was. She could of bailed long ago, and never had to work a day in her life.

Sharon really didnt need ozzy, but Ozzy sure needed her. Thats my two cents.

Agree with your main points, but my issue with her is how she treated other musicians. Standing up to record companies is one thing, but why screw over other, sometimes struggling, musicians? She just perpetuates the system Ozzy/Sabbath were so bitter about when they got screwed over by their management in the 70s. It’s a wonder Ozzy allowed her to do the same to people he was working with. Sad.

On a different note, I sometimes think Ozzy and Bob Daisley could have had a real long-term partnership like Elton John and Bernie Taupin, had Sharon not screwed it up.

Then who knows what she made him agree to after he literally tried to murder her, as the price for her taking him back.

She was always a nasty piece of work too. She previously managed an English singer called Lynsey De Paul and after Lynsey made a comment about her that she didnt like, Sharon pissed in her suitcase. Either her gangster dad made her in his image, or she chose to copy him to get ahead.

Well, they basically did. Ozzys career as a creative artist was over when Daisley was dumped.... No more tears was the last album Bob worked on. Played the bass and supplied the lyrics, which were then not used since Bob did not want to sell them for a lump sum, but wanted publishing.
Then lemmy got the assignment since he was willing to do it for a one time payment.

Everything after No more tears? Does anyone care?

This is the only thing I can’t get past. The rest I agree with tym. She was ruthless on behalf of her client and served him well. That’s the job.

And this isn’t a hate thing, but I see her lately and feel sorry for her. That woman has a case of Someone’s Always Watching Me Syndrome leading to all the cosmetic surgery and it’s sad to watch.

I feel the hate for her is excessive. Yes, Sharon could be a real shit and she played a major part in screwing over a few former band members, with the re-recording of the first two albums being a great example; however, on a positive note, she played a critical role in establishing and maintaining what turned out to be Ozzy's very successful solo career. I suspect Ozzy wasn't the easiest guy to be with at times, yet she stuck with him in spite of all his issues when most other wives and/or managers would have thrown in the towel. I guess she must have loved the guy. She's clearly a sometimes ruthless businesswoman, but she wouldn't have made it in the music business of the 80s in particular without being tough, and Ozzy wouldn't have made it like he did if she hadn't been there for him.

It's pretty simple regardless of what she did for Ozzy, she financially screwed the musicians who wrote and created the music of Ozzy's solo material because she could because of a power imbalance.

Ozzy's post Sabbath career is because of these musicians and Sharon didn't want to pay them.

That's why there is hate towards her.

I don't know why she scooped this crazy dude up, and then told her dad that she was going to manage this numbskull.
But she did. And she did a good job.
I get the Black Sabbath thing that came later, but I'm thinking that Ozzy wasn't getting the money he should have been from Black Sabbath. I don't really know.
But Sharon took care of him from day one! They were married for 45 years.
Their kids seemed a little spoiled and awful on the first season of The Osbourne's. But that was reality TV.
Their kids turned out fine. That was because Sharon was their mom.

Sharon did not get involved until they were recording Diary of a Madman.
Ozzy did indeed not get the money he should have been getting from Black Sabbath. None of them did. Patrick Meehan took it all.
They didn't even own their cars and houses and were not aware of it. It was all in Meehans name.
And then Iommi went back with him in the 80s!
And then Meehans sent him to play South Africa for a rolls royce and sabbath got all the shit for apartheid.

Ozzy Osbourne is 100% responsible for stealing the songwriting credits from his band. No one else is. Period.

If Ozzy had been some helpless moron being controlled by his wife, he wouldn't have told interviewers he wrote all the songs on BATM by himself on the piano. He stole their credit and their publishing.... full stop.

Same goes for re-recording the bass and drums on the remasters. It's 100% on Oz. Even if the recording was done without his knowledge, he could have picked up the phone and stopped its release. He didn't.

People blame Sharon to make excuses for Ozzy because he's their hero.
