I've said it before, and I will say it again... this guy is GREAT!
Kudos to Anthony, The Hair Metal Guru... his interview with Maddi is great... and in truth, he stays out of her way... and she talks a lot!
Shares a lot... and does not mince words... ever... she covers it all, does not back away from anything, and names a few names that were not popular in her world.
“They both let me down in a lot of ways…”

Listened to it the other day.
Apparently Jerry Dixon is doing his best to make sure she gets what’s coming to her as far as royalties, etc.
Jani’s manager Obi is/was a POS and even sued Jani’s estate.
Working with her sister to get some unreleased stuff out.
Still have no idea who wrote the note found on his body unless it was his then wife.

She's actually pretty open for sure... she shares it all, and as I said above, no mincing words.roxxxtar wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:45 pm Listened to it the other day.

Good for her... she seems to have a really good head on her shoulders considering how she was raised.

Yeah, I was just thinking she seems pretty well adjusted for a girl whose father wrote and sang the line “Hookers and whores and a teenage slut on the bathroom floor!”.MetalSludgeCEO wrote: ↑Fri Aug 08, 2025 12:12 pmShe's actually pretty open for sure... she shares it all, and as I said above, no mincing words.roxxxtar wrote: ↑Thu Aug 07, 2025 11:45 pm Listened to it the other day.

I couldn't get through the whole interview, for various reasons. Partly, I just don't think Jani, much less Maddi, deserve more than 12 minutes of my time. I have other random, pointless internet searches to which I must attend.
And partly because she speaks in that slightly annoying younger generation (though she's not that young) "awareness of dysfunction" talk that, while, arguably healthy, is nonetheless somewhat artificially removed and cognitive: sometimes one craves a good emotion-filled scream and cry for an absent father or mother (see: John Lennon in "Mother" -- he got both the cognitive and the emotional out there. And see how well adjusted he was?)
THAT SAID, I do admit she came off as remarkably well-adjusted and well-spoken and aware for having had two mostly shit-bag parents farming her out here and there across the country. I'm glad she apparently had other family members and friends step up her. And for all the "Jani was such a nice a guy" stuff, his (and her mom's) addictions left a shitty legacy on this kid's childhood.
And I applaud the Board for (so far) not commenting on whether they would "do her" (or not).

Lane pulled a lot of sh!t, for years and years, a few decades even... and plenty of people on the inside were not thrilled with a lot of the wasted opportunities.
Much was covered on Metal Sludge over the years... including interviews by band members who said Lane single-handedly cost the band massive amounts of money, bankruptcies, etc...
He went through 3 marriages, and was still wrecking everything in his path until he wrecked himself for good.
We've also heard the ex-wives, and now even the kids (throw him under the bus) and tell their truth.
However, the diehard Jani fans will continue to preach how great he was when they met him (for 2 minutes outside a club) and that he was misunderstood.
Whitey Bulger was murdered in prison as an old man, and people felt sorry for him. They also felt bad for John Gotti when he died a horrible death from Cancer as he rotted in a cell.
Of course when they died, it seems everyone forgot about the countless murders they were involved with and endless crimes they did that hurt people.
Same with the average Joe, the Rock Star, or other celebrity... when they die, everyone kind of sweeps all of that ugly stuff under the rug.

She likes to put herself in the public eye a lot more than Bobbie's daughter Taylar. I see she even wrote an original song.

I got bored with it. Her therapy, her therapy, her therapy. And when the interviewer said he was a recovering alcoholic I thought "Oh here we go...yep he's talking about himself too. Snore." Wish there was an edited version where she just talks about the juicy stuff. At least she lucked out and looks more like her mom than her dad unlike poor Taylar.

Same. There were some interesting parts, but it was mostly a chore to listen to.
