Queensryche is a progressive metal band. I've heard them be compared to Pink Floyd and referred to as "thinking man's metal."
In 2010, Tate had Queenryche go on a "Queensrych Cabaret" tour. Tate work an open silk robe and tophat and had his wife and daughter prance around onstage in bizarre outfits while hula-hoopers, drag queens, and girls in cages danced around.
That kinda stuff pretty much alienated anyone who was ever a fan of QR. In addition to being lame, it was just weird, man.

I caught that tour too and they were boring as hell. I think they were even boring themselves. Geoff then continued to alienate fans with the Dedicated 2 Chaos album. That was an interesting period for me as a long time Ryche fan. I learned more about the band than I ever knew before with the court documents. Geoff and his wife had been in control for so long that he was totally blindsided when the other 3 voted to boot her out. From what I understand, he was good with Rockenfield for a while.
