Rumors are circulating on social media suggesting that longtime Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres may have retired from the band. No official confirmation has been provided, reports from Mitch Lafon indicated.

Music journalist Mitch Lafon addressed the speculation in a recent social media post. He emphasized the unconfirmed nature of the claims.

“Another day. Another hot rumor,” Lafon wrote. “Apparently, Tico Torres has retired from Bon Jovi. I asked everybody I knew that might know… and no one can confirm. So… this stays as unconfirmed rumor.”

The speculation gained additional attention from The Bon Jovi Talk Podcast. The podcast referenced comments suggesting significant changes within the band’s lineup.

Well, he's about 10 years older than JBJ and they can no longer tour.

I would think the word "retiring" would be more fitting.

I don't see him quitting because of drama, or another project... he's obviously loaded, and at 71, soon to 72... time to call it a day!

Drumming is a very demanding job and even with all the high level accommodations, etc... he's likely had enough fun.

Also... how many tours, extended runs, or dates have Bon Jovi even done in the last 4-5 years since Covid?

Has to be be limited...

If all Jon is going to do from here on out is the occasional Nashville show where everyone has their phone locked and the band sounds OK, I can see why Tico would want to shut it down. There’s no rock, there’s no edge.

I mean, Bon Jovi is retired... so it would make sense that Tico would be too.

He already walks hunched over like Mick Mars, time to quit.

And for the guitar players here be aware of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, it’s not fun … 40 years of playing guitar so my arms, hands and face can go numb … thanks god .. it’s not 100% the guitar’s fault but it’s a big part of it … I think the biggest cause are iPads and sitting at a desk for 25 years … all of that combined and I’m F’d for life as my guitar skills fade away like I’ve never touched a guitar.

He might reunite with the band again if they will go on tour or record a new album…

He's put in his time, and made a lot of money. Bon Jovi doesn't seem to be doing much studio or live work these days anyway, so probably not a bad time to pack it in.

Anyone remember the poster here called Taco Torres? I always laughed at that one.

I’m finally having trigger finger release surgery on my middle and ring finger on my left hand.
Been 2 yrs since I’ve been able to play.
At this point I just want relief for every day quality of life.
If I can play again, that’s just a bonus.

I am skeptical because of the source Mitch LaFon!
He has occasional good sources but is really a super fan boy and now considered “press”

If true, Tico has really accomplished a lot. Good for him.

Tico just made a post on the official Bon Jovi Facebook page, saying this was all nonsense and didn’t know how the rumor got started.

I wonder if Tico is allowed to play with other people on his contract. Is he still in NJ?

I know, I am getting older. it took me over 2 weeks to somewhat master the Travis thumb and finger picking to learn "Solebury Hill". I am not 100% at it, but my younger fingers would have had it fluid by now.
