I still enjoy listening to the Mamas and the Papas and I think Phillips was a great songwriter, but he seems to have been a rotten human being.

A few of the others mentioned fall more in the "asshole" category, in my opinion.

Seems like he's a sex offender. Someone on a WASP reddit mentioned something about him being involved with a 12 year old but I can't find any source on that.

That's what I thought, I can't really think of anyone in the hair band scene that comes close to those guys. Just being an asshole of a human being is still in a different league than planning to murder your wife or being a child molester. Of the people mentioned here only Ray Gillen may come close to that.
