Rocker Singers who coulda been Country stars
Obviously Yankees or Brits wouldve had a hard time crossing over.
Even so I think Lennon and McCartney coukdve attempted it.
Dylan and Don Henley are obvious choices. Also Jackson Browne.
Ann Wilson and Springsteen.
Lou gramm from foreigner? Jack White?

Yes, Adams and Bongiovi....acoustic unplugged.
Probably Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie nicks.
Grace Slick, hmmm similar voice to Ronstadt.
Chrissie Hynde, nah, nor Joan Jett, nor pat benatar.
Definitely Clapton, but not rod stewart

Singer from Staind did it
Re: Rocker Singers who coulda been Country stars
Paul Laine of Danger Danger released a country album under the name Dark Horse.
It’s actually not too bad.

Yepp, Aaron Lewis looks a lot like a few other tatted "truck country" guys.
I can't listen to dumbed down lyrics anymore.
I'd like to think that if Bob seger did country music. Il the lyrics would be in another stratosphere from Blake shelton.

Beyond those already mentioned, Glen Frey, Ronnie Van Zant, and Billy Gibbons come to mind.
Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, the Stones, the Eagles, Clapton, the Band, and a lot of others did just fine whenever they dabbled in country.

Robin Zander made a country record, but it was pulled pretty quickly, if even released.

Something that I think might have been interesting, if only for the oddity of it, would have been Brian Wilson doing a country album in his earlier years.
