MÖTLEY CRÜE’s Las Vegas Residency Faces Cancellation Rumors Amid Low Ticket Sales

Speculation is growing among fans that MÖTLEY CRÜE’s upcoming Las Vegas residency may not go ahead as planned, following reports of slow ticket sales and ongoing doubts about demand.

The band is set to perform ten shows at Dolby Live at Park MGM this September, a venue with a 5,200-seat capacity. But according to fans tracking availability on major ticketing platforms, large sections remain unsold, fueling rumors that promoters might look for a way to pull the plug.

The residency was originally scheduled for March and April but was postponed after frontman Vince Neil required a medical procedure. At the time, Neil said: “My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve, and I can’t wait to return to the stage.” Now, with rescheduled dates looming, fans are questioning whether health was the only factor behind the delay.

On Reddit, one fan remarked: “There are still a ton of tickets available for the Las Vegas shows. Who thinks they’ll make an excuse to cancel?” Another quipped: “Better question: how much longer until ‘health issues’ postpone/cancel the dates again?”

Others took direct aim at bassist Nikki Sixx, with a thread titled “How’s Nikki’s ego handling the lack of ticket sales?” sparking more cynicism. A fan replied: “Looks like the ticket prices have quietly been slashed in half.” Another added: “Seeing video of the recent Vince show, it’s hard to believe they are really planning to go forward with this residency.”

The chatter comes against the backdrop of a broader downturn in Las Vegas tourism. Recent figures from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) reported a six-month consecutive decline in visitor numbers, with June 2025 showing an 11.3% drop compared to the same month in 2024. Rising travel costs and decreased demand have left the city struggling to fill venues across the board, a trend fans say could further hurt the band’s chances of selling out.

Whether poor sales alone could force MÖTLEY CRÜE to cancel remains uncertain, but many fans are already bracing for more bad news. As one post summed it up: “They will blame the ‘economy of Las Vegas.’ Tourism to the area has dropped by double digits.”

For now, the September residency is still officially on the books — but with skepticism mounting online, fans are watching closely to see if the CRÜE can pack the house, or if Sin City will end up with ten fewer shows this fall.

It seems like motley runs it into the ground every decade or so. They go away and come
Back strong for a while.
Maybe its is just another down turn for the Crue.

Or did the fans finally realize what a shit show they have been paying for?

I swore them off after the Stadium Tour. Just awful.

I swore them off in 97 but I ended up seeing them in festival situations since then. I remember seeing them in 87 on the Girls tour and I had a moment of reflection thinking to myself "these guys are boring me". So yeah, they've been suckin for a long time.

I was kinda waiting to see what was happening with The Who tour, similarly bad ticket sales in former eastern seaboard stronghold with Philadelphia and Atlantic City suddenly postponed due to illness. They are in Vegas at the same time. Billy Idol who used to do 4-6 shows every fall in Vegas is opening.

Serious question:

How much do sales matter for these sorts of residencies? Aren't they kind of loss-leaders for the Casino anyways and by design heavily papered with comps for gamblers?

I would say the deciding factor on whether the plug gets pulled is Vince's health

Tommy needs to dust off Methods of Mayhem to open the shows. Then it’s straight back to stadiums. The fans are demanding it.

that site is just crap clickbait site.. no cancellation rumors. Yeah, sales for tickets have been light for this residency.. but its all happening. Vince just met up with the rest of the band today for rehearsals.

As for their downfall.. i think the treatment of Mick and then the bass backing track stuff just turned alot of people off.. Especially ones who paid a crap ton in 2015 for the final tour, only to see em come back..

IMPOSSIBLE! I visited family in Minnesota last weekend for the first time in a few years and came back a day early. I wish I could enjoy it more, but I get restless not having 20 things to choose from. If dive bars aren't open 24 hours and I can't get a prime rib at 4:30 in the morning, I'm not going! :D

I haven't noticed the difference in things like visitor counts on Fremont Street, etc. Revenue is down on the Strip for casinos and hotels compared to last year, but they continued to break records in the years after the COVID recovery, and you can't keep going up every year.

Vegas was the only city to exceed pre-COVID levels in the Downtown areas (https://downtownrecovery.com/charts/rankings), while Minneapolis was one of the worst.

Concerts continue to sell out. Motley Crue just SUUUUUUUCKS in 2025, and everybody has seen them now. I loved them growing up, but that was then. My life didn't peak at 21. Even if tickets were cheap or free, there are 10 better things to do in Vegas than see Vince Neil barely make it through a show. A Motley Crue concert isn't even the best show on any given night.

Hope Vince makes it to the "residency". Otherwise, the demand for that Florida Georgia Line reunion will only go up if Motley has to cancel.

No clue. For their sake, I hope they add some deep cuts. No reason they can't.. Buckcherry is doing a Vegas residency right now opening for scorpions and they are playing songs they haven't played in years.. that's how ta do it

They should do what Tool does and put "Vince" in the back of the stage, behind a screen so you only see a silhouette, or dim lights on him. Get this guy to fill in and maybe no one would know. Ha.

Minneapolis, and it isn't even close. As Jesse Ventura said on the Tonight Show, the roads were designed by drunken Irishmen. He got heat for it of course, but he was right.

When has Motley residency been the talk of the town?
Always done The Joint type venues
Def Leppard-Scorpions- Kiss -GNR-Motley residency shows always the same sized crowds- some empty- free tickets others mostly full small venues
Even B Spears residency show was half empty

I saw Motley headline The Death Star with 45000 last show I’m good- that put bad thoughts in Eddie Vedder head, should have made Cobain choice then
John 5 should be part of AEW- that’s how cool he is

How can a casino sell a residency if people do not know if the voice of the band is going to alive by its first date?
