Chuck Berry - the nastiest rock star of all?

I'd heard various stories before: a video of him farting in a hooker's mouth, the toilet cams he installed. Apparently things went even further than that. Supposedly there's a video out there somewhere of him having a woman take a dump in his mouth after he urinated on her face. It's mentioned here:
https://books.google.be/books?id=akzvdi ... &q&f=false
Phil Lewis and his spoon violating antics are really nothing compared to that. Of course, there might be others who do shit like that that we are simply unaware of.
Reports are somewhat conflicting on what kind of a person he was. Some say he's scum, others say he was a very nice man. He also had a conviction for assaulting a woman, that doesn't really plead in his favor.

Not even close.
This book made The Dirt and those details about Chuck Berry seem innocent. By far the filthiest, nastiest and most depraved account of life in a band/on the road that I ever read. A 10/10 must read book.

I’ve heard repeatedly that Vince Neil is disgusting… never stops beefing, and people say it’s hard to be around him from the constant fart smells.

It's been reported Brian Wilson was the same re: flatulence, didn't shower all that much & carried on like this in the studio whist working with other people!

I don't doubt that Chuck might have been a bit unhinged, but how can anyone be at the top of this list besides GG Allin?

There is nothing a woman won’t do, you don’t even have to pay them.

All an act. Rumors circulated that off stage he liked quiet candlelight dinners and long walks on the beach before his shit eating (followed by lots of cuddling).

I saw that one of those Chuck clips on a compilation video back on Fuct I think (he was pissing in some gals mouth in the shower).
Fella really went tone deaf with the lack of caring about his live shows - musically speaking I mean.

The link provided above is a very wild read. Chuck was a sick motherfucker. Wasn’t Nat King Cole a sick fella as well?

I'm pretty sure Nikki's gross-out contest with Ozzy pretty much proves that Chuck Berry is, in fact, not the nastiest rock star of all.

You rank Ozzy licking up Sixx' pee above Chuck eating feces?

Yes, because I never knew the story about Chuck Berry eating feces. If anything right now, they’re both about equally gross.

There was nothing “normal” about Chuck Berry or his antics. He was scum
Berry was also arrested and sentenced to three years under The Mann Act in 1961
for an incident that happened in 1959.
The girl in question was only fourteen.

Who was it that did the fish thing?
Chicks love the attention when they do sick stuff … it actually builds their confidence.

Funny how Elvis & Jerry Lee Lewis did the same thing but never got arrested. I wonder why they singled out Chuck?

I think you are referring to that time Led Zeppelin decided to fuck a groupie with a fish.

I remember seeing a video of Chuck back in the day. The classic part of it was Chuck pissing on this blonde chick's face, and he goes: "Do you love me?" and she goes: "Yes, of course" and he replies:
IF YOU LOVED ME, YOU'D OPEN YOUR MOUTH.
Classic stuff right there.
I've never heard about Chuck being a coprophage, but have heard lots about him just basically hating fucking whitey and not talking to anybody at his shows, just sitting outside in a caddy until it was showtime, getting the money THEN walking on stage, playing and heading straight to the caddy and bailing.
To be fair, it must have been beyond fucked being a black person in America in the first half of the twentieth century. I think it is kind of remarkable that any of them put up with any cracker bullshit AT ALL. Chuck getting off by humiliating white chicks almost seems like a reasonable response to the type of trauma that he and his entire racial cohort must have gone through.

I never heard of Chuck hating whitey. I saw him walking around at the local casino a couple times, but my Dad ran into him all the time and sometimes talked to him and said he was always polite and joked around. He sure didn’t hate the white girl’s, that’s for sure. Way back on the day Chick got into big trouble for hiding cameras in the ladies room of some establishment he owned outside of St. Louis. I wonder if he was a Mentor’s fan, haha.
Back in ‘93 I worked part time at a local biker bar a grill and on Saturday nights, a guy named Billy Peak would usually play. His claim to fame was that he played guitar for Rod Stewart for several years. Anyhow, a bunch of times Chuck showed up and got up and did a bunch of his songs with Billy’s band, but every single time it was a weekend I wasn’t working. The other guitarist in ANACRUSIS worked there with me and the following band practice he’d say “guess what? Chuck came in Saturday night”. I was born and lived my entire life in STL, Johnny B. Goode was probably one of the 1st five songs I learned to play on guitar, but never saw Chuck play.

My dad told me that his dad, my grandfather, would always go on unprovoked rants in the 50s and 60s about how terrible rock and roll music was. (One of his favorite Sunday dinner stunts was to threaten not to allow the family to watch the Ed Sullivan Show if anyone "controversial" was going to be on, which resulted in one or more of his kids crying. He'd always relent at the last minute, thanks to my grandmother talking him out of it, but that didn't mean he didn't walk out of the TV room swearing halfway through Elvis, the Beatles, the Stones or James Brown to have a smoke outside.) No doubt, similar scenes played out throughout countless homes in North America during that time.
Anyway, the rocker my grandfather hated more than all the others was Chuck Berry. (I don't think Chuck ever appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show, but if he had it would probably have been the only time he actually followed through on his threat to unplug the TV.) More than once, he supposedly ordered my father's older brother and sister not to play his 45s on the record player, at least whenever he was at home. (My common sense grandmother did not enforce this ban when her husband was at work.) Supposedly, my grandfather made a point of telling the family on multiple occasions that, "The only thing guys like Chuck Berry care about is getting into young white girls' pants!" While this observation probably had its foundation in the old man's racist attitudes and not any actually sources to back up the claim, it turns out he was largely correct in Chuck's case. (If only he knew the more lurid details, right?)
A true story: My father's older sister managed to get a pair of Beatles tickets in 1964. Of course, the first thing my grandfather did was to tell her in front of the whole family that she wasn't allowed to go, which left her totally crushed for the next few days. For a while, he stood his ground. My grandmother played the hero again, by deciding she would be taking ownership of the tickets and going to the concert herself with her daughter, my aunt, as her guest. The old man, likely realizing he'd been outsmarted again, chose not to put up a fight.

I saw Chuck Berry at an outdoor show in NC back around '08-09. It was a makeshift stage downtown to open a new convention center. He sat in his Caddy until showtime, popped out, played a set that lasted maybe 25-30 minutes, hopped back into his Caddy and took off.
Can't believe there's video of a song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xtOg0gqQkM
It was truly one of (if not THE) most out-of-tune, awful live performances I've ever seen.
