I'm old enough to remember when right-wingers on this board posted that it was a left wing lunatic that killed the MN lawmakers and that it was proof at how most political violence comes from the left. Complete silence after that premature narrative was shattered. Remember the outpouring of concern and calls to tone down political violence and rhetoric from Trump and the right after that? Me neither...

Obviously, what happened to Kirk is horrendous and only sets the stage for additional political violence. AND, this is also the same guy that basically said the MN lawmakers had it coming based on how they talked about Trump and said that mass shootings were worth it in order to preserve the 2nd amendment. So spare me if I can't performatively clutch my pearls for someone that never demonstrated the same empathy for people who experienced the same fate that he now has.

He also said "a few gun deaths are okay" if that is the price for the 2nd amendment. He probably meant other people should die though.

Kirk, among MANY other right-wing figures, was all about making jokes/praising the dude that almost murdered Nancy Pelosi's husband with a hammer. I wish y'all would get as worked up about fucking children getting massacred in schools as you do about a single political pundit/troll.

The right are normally the ones saying that we shouldn't politicize shooting tragedies yet are doing just that before we even have the full story. I want some actual common sense gun control measures that reduce the likelihood of awful events like this, while they have TIME AFTER TIME but the one's to do anything but that.
