I’ve never watched the original.

I’ve always taken the concept to be an insult. Hard pass.

Sabrina Carpenter even paid tribute to Smell the Glove with her new album cover!

As soon as I saw that, I thought to myself "There's such a fine line between stupid and clever".

Despise them for the same reason.

I've been sort of dreading the new Tap, the trailer really did not impress me, so ijwhstd saying it's good gives me a little hope.

I've been kinda expecting Happy Gilmore 2, like depressingly bad.

I never liked the first one, it was boring … IMO.

I didn’t like it 100 years ago and I watched it again recently to see what I didn’t get when I was younger and I still didn’t like it.

Did you ever play in or work for a band?

Silliest take ever and could only be made by someone who never watched the film. There is a very good reason why it is loved by pretty much every musician out there. It is brilliant, hilarious and timeless. All-time classic. They 100% knew what they were talking about and got it all correct.

If you’ve ever been in a band, had a record deal, toured, recorded, dealt with labels management or anything else this movie only gets more and more funny as you experience that life.

What's wrong with being sexy though?

Looking forward to watch this.

I saw the original when I was around 10 or 11 and totally thought it was a real documentary about a real band.

Everything promotional about this up until watching it today made me think I was going to hate it and shit on it. Nope, it was pretty good. Pleasantly surprised.

I love the original too much to want to watch this because I couldn't imagine they could get it right again with the self-awareness aspect now. If you think it doesn't totally suck I may watch it after all. :P

EVERY. SINGLE. BUS. that was out on tours in the eighties had a VHS tape of Spinal Tap.

Regardless of it being a spoof, nothing else ever came as close to the real life on the road and experience of being in a band.

First time you watched it, it was a comedy...but over time you began to realize that it was a horror movie, as one-by-one the things in it became true

I STILL have nightmares about not being able to find my way from backstage to the stage as in the "Hello Cleveland!" scene.

I saw the movie Wednesday night. I’m very glad that I did. It was as good as it could’ve been.

Yesterday I made plans to see it tonight. This morning I read a review in Rolling Stone that wasn’t so good and thought oh boy this just might be awful.

I thought it was pretty much all you can expect and hope for. I give it a solid B with an A for effort.

So far this sequel/reboot season, I was fine with Happy Gilmore 2 (I wanted more boneheaded stupidity, I got more boneheaded stupidity) and the new Spinal Tap. I thought the Naked Gun remake was an atrocity but others seem to love it.

Anyway this was good.

my favorite part of the original is during jazz odyssey- the lone seated guy holding up a thumbs down
