Rikki Rockett's father passed away this morning, but he will still play tonights show. Show him so extra love tonight people.


From Rikki's FB page: "Dad passed away today. It was early afternoon outside in a garden while my Sister Vicki and I held him. Thank God My Vicki and I were able to be with him in his last hours. I will still play the show tonight because Dad would have wanted that and it is what I do. It will be tough, but he will be watching."

OMG! RiKKI, I'm so sorry. We've seen each other before, but I was too shy to come up to you, even though you were the sweetest, most welcoming, extra-sensory perceptive musician I've been too bashful to go up to. Rikki, most people I can feel are not nice, but you were genuine and had warmth. I too am going through the same thing thing with my very beloved father. When I saw Poison and Warrant, I was mad inside because my father was hospitlized around the same time because his diabetes hit 36, and now they say he's in heaven. I know the devastation, and how your heart feels like it is being yanked out its muscles. Please take care of yourself, and watch your blood pressure. Post here if you like so we can talk. I'm gotten some amazing support at sludge and on the net.

Look at acdc's article on how they picked themselves up after Bon's death. I found strength and happiness in that in recent days lately that I haven't wanted to wake up. You have your baby to wake up for. And your fans. Your music has really healed some people and made them literally walk out of ther wheechairs, remember like that one girl who literally rolled up to you in her wheelchair and got up and starting walking. I hope the same strength in your music, heals your heart.

It's nice that he found it amusing, instead of feeling harrassed and targeted. When I had to go through airport security in Tulsa after seeing Rush, I hated that a dykey security guard asked another woman security to really touch under my breast multiple times if I am hiding anything, and asked to go through that body scan over and over back and forth. Of course I gave them a dirty look. Flat women got no hassle behind me. The dykey cop even followed me onto the plane terminal and staring at me, pretendig I was a terrorist because of my huge chest and black pleather purse. Yes, I am really stacked, but I know they are doing it on purpose to harrass me.

I watched a multi-part interview with Don that was posted here awhile back and he said he was raised in an orphanage. That may have been the start of his feelings of betrayal. I don't recall if he said his parents had died or if they just dumped him there, though.
