Pet peeve.

Born in the USA was written as an anti patriotic song.

But, it was adopted culturally as a rallying cry for dummies.

Which Springsteen seems to encourage.

How does this idiot get away with pretending to be a rebel when he's basically a sell out

It wasn't an anti-patriotic song. It's actually one of the most patriotic songs out there. You just have to actually listen to the verses.
