I just do not think that the first Smackdown team deserved to be on a main event quality match. They had not earned it yet.

thank the wrestling gods Cena won, keep him on lame Raw. The Tonight Show Raw guest host thing sucks..I guess DX(NWO) will be winning the titles soon, meaning squashing both shows!. Glad Batista is a bad guy now, might make him interesting

hope Vince sees the light R-Truth is the real deal, main event guy for sure

Bragging Rights was actually one of the better PPVs WWE has had in a while, IMO.

The Cena/Orton match was much better than I thought it was gonna be.

I'm doubled over with laughter over two things that will air Thursday night.

Rowdy Roddy Piper and the Iron Sheik will be on "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia."

And Hulk Hogan will be on TNA.

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff sign with TNA. Multiple sources say more major news is yet to come, news that could be construed as bigger than Hogan and Bischoff. There are only two possibilities that come to mind at this moment...

(1) Shane McMahon is going to buy TNA with Hogan and Bischoff/Hervey as partners.

(2) TNA will add a program on Monday Nights head-to-head with Raw on Spike TV.

I would put the odds of Shane being involved in this low, but given the timing of everything, it just cannot be fully ruled out.

However, it's no secret Dixie Carter has been told over and over for years that TNA's goal should always be to go head-to-head with Raw again some day. Signing Hulk Hogan puts them very close to having the name necessary to compete. Add Eric Bischoff in an on-air role, and then sign Ric Flair, keep Kurt Angle and Kevin Nash, bring in Rob Van Dam, X-Pac, and Mr. Kennedy, and combine it with TNA's talented roster of non-former-Monday-Night-War participants, and fans would take notice. So would Vince McMahon.

The personalities involved fit perfectly into that scenario. Carter wants to move to the next level. Spike TV would love to stick it to WWE after they left them to return to USA Network. Ric Flair has felt jilted by WWE recently. Hulk Hogan, without a doubt, has always wanted to be positioned to lead a Vince McMahon competitor, and unlike WCW, Hogan could have ownership interest and a greater stake in their success.

2010 just got a whole lot more interesting. The major players who thrive on the adrenaline of this type of scenario have lined up with a rare opportunity that TNA's established promotion and Spike TV as a TV partner provide.

Bischoff and Hogan like to make big moves. Nothing can ruled out. That's why it's even worth writing Shane McMahon as a possible player. It's also possible a broadcast network deal is in the mix.

Tonight's appearance of Hulk Hogan on "Larry King Live" on CNN tonight will reveal more hints of what's yet to come.

Nothing would make me happier if any of this is true. Right now, wrestling needs something to make people care again, cause it hasnt been noteworthy since McMahon bought WCW. (im not talking about stuff like ROH or NOAH, since that is pretty much underground...im talking a "mainstream" acceptance). It needs a kick in the ass, it needs some excitement, and TNA going head to head with WWE with a name like Hogan behind it would be amazing...or better yet , with the McMahons going head to head, even if that to me is far fetched.

Very interesting news indeed. Actually, it has been quite a few months since I have cared/watched any wrestling...it just has gotten so stale, I have no interest in it right now. Hogan adds a name with drawing power, but I don't wanna see a Hogan/Nash match what a snoozefest that would be.

Shane-O Mac buying TNA? That would be all sorts of fucked up....what a meal that would be at Thanksgiving having your son try to fuck up your company....ouch.

But would Shane-O-Mac really be in competition with dear old Dad? Or would it just be another take over by Vince, and again he would own it all?

Is Hogan really that relevent anymore? Seriously? His name is not enough to draw me in.
Believe it or not, I'm going to agree with VA on this..
I think Shane just wants to make TNA another subsid of WWE.

As for Booker T.. he belongs in AIWF.. or Smokey Mountain.. or Memphis.. or whatever is left..

Shane "leaving WWE" is a work, they just announce that, then buy TNA to look like there are 2 big companys

facts are Shane didn't "leave"..just Vince finding away to have competition, even though he will own them both

first thing they should do is change the name of TNA

Shane,Hulk Eric in the end all work for Vince

if it is a real competition against Vince let see them put on the supershow for TNA for free up against Wrestlemania, if they want to steal the fans and make Wrestlemania a bomb in viewers
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

Only way I don't see Shane leaving as "a work" is because of their stocks. You don't mess around with your stock holders by pretending your executive VP of Global Media and the main guy for overseas TV, live events, marketing, merch, and publishing (all EXTREMELY successful departments for the company) is leaving when he's not.

I would put my money on Shane leaving to get involved with buying into or starting up an MMA promotion. I could be wrong, but that has something he's apparently been interested in for a while now. I believe he even either tried to convince Vince or tried to get a group together to make a big on StrikeForce when they were on the market.

As for Hogan/Bischoff... One theory I have on this is that Dixie's father told them that they (Panda) are going to pull the plug on keeping the company afloat unless they show some signs of growth. Bringing in Hogan is nothing shy of desperation. Bischoff is a GREAT move. Creatively I don't think he can still bring to the table what he did 15 years ago, but I think he can still be valuable in terms of how to get people to actually buy a TNA PPV or buy tickets to the live shows and not just wait for the company to give them away the day of the show. He does have good connections in the entertainment industry and that could possibly help in getting them more outside exposure.

What really makes ZERO sense though is for them to keep harping on how they are the organization that is making new, young talent (which they aren't) and how they want to continue with their youth movement. When the top of your card is Nash, Angle, Foley, Steiner, Sting, Dudleys, etc. and you're bringing in Hogan and then possibly Flair and DDP... it really kind of contradicts what you're telling people and your business approach.

Time will see how this plays out. They haven't gotten this much buzz since they brought in Angle. They're going to have to hope though that it translates into a little more than what Angle brought to the table though which was one spiked PPV buyrate and no ratings growth. Because seriously... where would they go from here if this move bombs?

Like Sabu said, Shane leaving can't be a work. His behind the scenes work was a hundred times more important than anything he did onscreen. And because he's loaded with not just McMahon money, but his wife the Mazola corn oil heiress' money, he'd be very expensive for TNA to even get on the phone. Just because TNA is currently profitable doesn't mean the company is in the black from all their initial investments and can justify paying Shane what he might be able to bring to the table. Odds are there are media companies who would pay him a lot more then TNA could offer.

I think Bischoff was bought in for various forms of expansion in TV. Spike has first right of refusal of any series TNA develops in the US, but there's already have a "classic bouts" series airing outside the US. They could do a Knockouts show for Spike and work on selling the classic show to the same type of places that air "UFC Wired" and shows like that... and use them to advertise TNA and their PPVS.
