Me too....
and theres "Ill never work for anyone but WWE!" Ric Flair...
wow this feels like a really bad episode of wcw thunder under the red tna colors.. jeff hardy, flair, x-pac and scott hall have all made their appearances already and none of them have been exciting. Hogan's ego already building the show around his arrival.. pretty lame

what a joke of a show. You'd think they would be more creative than having every guy come out of the stands. This is a poor man's version of a terrible WCW show.
I was a die hard wrestling fans for 30 years, i havent watched a single minute in the last 2 years but visited a news website once in a while to keep up with major events.
I always hated bret hart even when he was in his prime, i was a huge hbk fan, i was 1st row floor for the montreal screwjob standing on my ppv chair(still have it)clapping after he lost the belt but damn it tonight i watched the opening segment anyway and it was great tv for old school fans like me.
Of course as soon as the segment ended i changed the channel but still vince got me back for a few minutes and ill be flipping back to see the vince bret face off

They say all good boys go to heaven
But bad boys bring heaven to you
Do any of the guys who debut on TNA bring anything new to the fed? I mean, Orlando Jordan?? are you serious? Ric Flair is 60 and got one of the greatest send offs ive ever witness in any sport or anywhere, for him to tarnish that ive lost any respect i had for him...honestly, RAW was much more interesting with the Hart/McMahon angle and while TNA might have the better matches, they still come off as a Bush league, no matter whos running the show.

I totally agree. WWE was smart to start things slowly with the Bret/Vince angle. They have 3 months to build it up for Wrestlemania. TNA tried too hard to be 90's WCW. Hogan is all about Hogan. He'll use TNA for his benefit and then kick them to the curb.
I also think Ric Flair appearing at TNA was stupid. His retirement RAW ceremony is now meaningless.
While I respect that Flair probably has new alimony checks to write, add my name to the list of people who are crestfallen at his potential return to the ring. I was genuinely touched at his "retirement" ceremony, but looked over at the person with whom I was watching it, and said, "So help me Lemmy, if he comes back, I'm SO done."
Dammit.
"Why leather woman post whore picture of breast!! That is for baby food and husband not internets!!"
LAglamrocker wrote:How funny would it be if Vince released Bret from his contract on tuesday? Kicked Bret in his nuts, then gone. SCREWJOB 2!
Bret isn't that stupid. I am sure the contract he signed does not allow Vince to do that. Bret would not be that dumb to leave himself unprotected like that.
Some of you people are being way too hard on TNA. First of all that match between AJ Styles and Kurt Angle was better than anything I have seen from WWE since Taker/HBK at Mania 25.
The Nasty Boys/Val Venis and Orlando Jordan didn't have prominent wrestling roles on the show. They were there for comedy value.
Ric Flair wanted to go back to the WWE. They didn't want him. He wants to make $. TNA wants him. It is as simple as that. Almost NO Pro Wrestler stays retired.
Lastly,TNA has apparently singed Jeff Hardy. Make all the drug jokes you want but his merch sells out at pretty much every WWE show.Sometimes the videos of Jeff Hardy played before the shows get the bigest pop of the night.Last time he was in TNA he was not the worldwide,Mega-Star he is now. Also, back then TNA was not on SPIKE,I think they were still on FOX SPORTS NET. EIther way, Jeff sells merch, tickets and has some of the most loyal fans in wrestling. Jeff was legit pissed when CM PUNK made that comment on his arrest back in September and this might be the byproduct of that. Anyone who doesn't want TNA to succeed is not a real wrestling fan. Even if TNA gets crushed in the ratings, the thing that matters is how TNA is doing a year from now.
I agree about Val Venis and the Nasty Boys being filler, but it looked like they were setting up a program between Orlando Jordan and the Pope. Which is a waste of the Pope's time. I've enjoyed him on TNA so far, and to stick him with a nobody like Jordan is a shame.
Hardy is a good signing for them, as long as he can pass the wellness tests.
The more airtime they waste on the AARPWO and other FOH (Friends of Hogan), the less airtime they'll have for their own guys....the ones Hogan claims to be "giving their chance to shine".
And Flair seems to be a redundant signing. If Hogan, Bischoff and Foley are already basically non-wrestling "authority figures", then what is Flair going to be? An active wrestler? That would be the saddest thing I've seen in a long time.
I thought TNA basically failed last night. Kevin Nash sleepwalked through his parts, Scott Hall looked drunk (shocker!!!) and looked like he had bar snacks tucked in his cheeks, and Taz sounded like he was holding back laughter when he talked about how AWESOME the show had been thus far. The only "new" person who really delivered IMO was Bischoff.

Really? (to quote Miz).
I take exception to that. And to be fair, it's not that I WANT TNA to fail. But Hulk Hogan ain't all that dude. I really did feel like I was watching Nitro. That's "revolutionary?" The NWO? Sting in the rafters? Come the fuck on. And Bitchoff needs to stay behind the scenes. He was always a deal killer for me in the WCW days and he's still just as annoying. The whole thing where he and Hogan faced the camera and talked about the Hogan/Bischoff regime was beyond bad. And don't get me started on the HORRIBLE Bubba bits. "I'm reporting live from the scene where Beer Money has taken a beating...back to you Mike and Taz." It was hokey and bush league.
WWE had the far better show last night. I'll grant you the AJ Styles/Angle match, but even that was upstaged by Hogan and the "Nu NWO".
The Bret/HBK bit was SO much better done.
Win = WWE

The only time I feel compelled to talk about wrestling is when the older guys are involved, since they're the ones I ever cared about anyway, and I have no connection to any of the new guys whatsoever.
That said, not that it's groundbreaking analysis, but the lack of integrity of these guys is astounding. So much was made of Bret forgiving the screwjob in Montreal, but the fact he'd ever work with McMahon again after his brother's death 10 years ago boggles my mind, given all the litigation and whatnot. It wasn't a wrestling angle... Owen hart DIED.
Furthermore I know the WWF gave Flair a send-off and months later, there is at 60 years old in TNA. Get the fuck outta here. He's like the Brett Favre of wrestling. Know when to pack it in and call it a day and don't embarrass yourself.
To see the piss poor lineup of guests TNA trotted out last night made me laugh. It was a WWF all-star team from the early to mid 90s. It's one thing for McMahon to bring back some of these guys on short-term deals or as gimmicky participants in battle royals, but anything more than that just looks stupid.
And what's the deal with Kurt Angle? I thought McMahon wouldn't re-sign him because of his neck injury, which he thought to be so bad that it could potentially paralyze him. You know if Vince McMahon is more concerned about your health than making money it must be serious. Yet there he is in TNA.
That's probably my wrestling post for 2010, or until Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and King Kong Bundy invade TNA in a few months.
Angle was unhappy with his situation in WWE and played his neck injury up (or at least played up his own concern about it) in order to be released.
Once he was released, he suddenly was OK with his neck and signed with TNA.
best part, they use 1st hour for Hulk to arrive,. Hulk comes out and says hes been backstage allday! TNA means Change? Nice to see Jones, David Flairs grandfatier, nu Nwo, N Boys,...ha ha same shit and tons of broken HARTS no Heyman or Shane..its the year 2000 or so in Tna!
Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"
Here's my take:
TNA--C+
That opening segment with the cage was godawful, but at the end of the day, it's Hardy arriving that is the big news. Those of you poo-pooing him are naive and fanboyish. He was so over in WWE that they're still using his name to get cheap heat for Punk.
The NWO crap is stupid.
Why the hate for Orlando Jordan and Val Venis? Five years ago these were wrestlers that many were bitching weren't being used right. Why not give them a shot?
The Pope is fucking awesome.
That Hogan Jarrett bit was terrible.
Angle/AJ was an incredible free t.v. match.
WWE--C-
Seeing Brett and Shawn hug was something I never thought I'd see. It was great television.
The rest of the show was a typical, bland as fuck Raw. What the fuck are you people seeing that was so great outside of the Brett/HBK opener?
Overall I'd say the evening was a wash. Neither show was great, but neither one was Judy-Bagwell-On-A-Pole or Katie Vick bad either.
