2010 MLB Regular Season Predictions

Post by JakeYonkel »

Getting this in before opening day, just got back from vacation. Not gonna bother guessing wins/records, just standings and playoff teams. For the hell of it.

NL East

1) Phillies
2) Braves
3) Mets
4) Marlins
5) Nationals

I honestly could see 3-5 falling in any way. The Mets are a mess, the Nationals have actually improved a bit, and you never know with the Marlins.

NL Central

1) Cardinals
2) Brewers
3) Cubs
4) Reds
5) Astros
6) Pirates

Probably not much of a shock there. It's St. Louis & everybody else.

NL West

1) Rockies
2) Dodgers
3) Giants
4) Diamondbacks
5) Padres

Wouldn't be shocked to see LA jump over Colorado but I don't think they have the pitching. Giants can pitch but have a little league offense.

NL Wild Card... I'll go with the Dodgers.

AL East

1) Yankees
2) Red Sox
3) Rays
4) Orioles
5) Blue Jays

Poor Tampa would win any other division but they're stuck in the east. ESPN's all over Boston's balls but I just don't see much of an improvement.

AL Central

1) Minnesota
2) White Sox
3) Tigers
4) Indians
5) Royals

I don't see all the White Sox live, I wanna see Peavy in the AL for a year and see somebody actually hit the ball for Chicago before I get an idea about them.

AL West

1) Rangers
2) Angels
3) Mariners
4) A's

Wouldn't surprise me to have LA finish in first as usual with Rangers in second.

Tight wild card race with Boston ultimately taking it. But I'm thinking a really tight race in the West too.

Cheers.

I think that you're highly underestimating Tampa. The East is going to be a race all season long. Boston's pitching, can the MFY get the same production out their aging vets, will Tampa's BP hold up? It's absurd not to pick NY to win the Division again IMO, but it could go either way. I think we'll know at like the last week of the season who's making the post-season.

I agree about Texas and Philly though ( well that one's easy ). I also think Florida could surprise a lot of people and be the NL Wild Card. I like what they've got, and have in AAA.

Cheers.

I think the Mariners will be much better this season but I'm always rooting for the Cards to win it all. I live out by Seattle and they play St.Louis this year but its an away series. They get the Cubs at home for four games in June so I might have to make one of those. With the Cubs it's one of those know your enemy type things. I also want to go see Felix pitch and Ichiro is always amazing.

Yankees
Red Sox
Rays
Orioles
Blue Jays

White Sox
Twins
Tigers
Royals
Indians

Angels
Mariners
Rangers
A's

Wildcard: Twins (but it really depends if they can find a dependable closer - the wild card rase should be hotly contested)

Phillies
Braves
Marlins
Mets
Nationals

Cards
Brewers
Cubs
Reds
Astros
Pirates

Rockies
Dodgers
Giants
Diamondbacks
Padres

Wildcard: Braves (I like their young talent).

I don't see how we can have anything but a Phils/Yanks World Series again.

As much as I love baseball, I don't know much about teams outside of the AL West, other than generalities. Ergo, it would be foolish for me to make predictions for divisions like the AL Central or the NL in general. Fuck it, I won't let that stop me.

Yankees
Rays
Red Sox
Orioles
Blue Jays

Twins
White Sox
Indians
Tigers
Royals

Angels
Rangers
Mariners
As

Wildcard: Rays

Phillies
Marlins
Braves
Mets
Nationals

Cards
Brewers
Cubs
Reds
Astros
Pirates

Giants
Rockies
Dodgers
Diamondbacks
Padres

Wildcard: Fuck, I don't know. Rockies.

Fuck it, Angels/Giants WS, repeat of 2002. Mark it in stone.

Oh well these are always pretty fun. I think that Minnesota will take the Division, even with Raunch as the closer. I don't think there's any way in hell it's Chicago over them and Detroit.

Oh well at least the Mets will continue to suck.

.....at least someone from NY will suck

If they don't have a fire sale of their talent again, you could be right.
