Brandon Marshall traded to the Dolphins
I will no doubt miss his talent...but I'll still be exposed to his shenanigans weekly. Can't wait for the headlines. I'm not sure The Tuna will put up with his tomfoolery, though. Best of luck to him.
The Denver Broncos are trading wide receiver Brandon Marshall to the Miami Dolphins for a second-round pick in next week's NFL draft and what league sources say is an additional second-round pick in 2011.
If the trade goes through, Marshall will join a Dolphins team that struggled in the passing game last season.
The trade is contingent upon the league processing the paperwork and Marshall passing his physical, neither of which is expected to be an issue Wednesday.
Marshall is scheduled to fly to Miami to take his physical and, if he passes, sign what will be one of the most lucrative wide receiver deals in NFL history, according to league sources.
In return, the Broncos will get two high draft picks for a player who caused them headaches in addition to making plays.
In a little more than a year, with a pair of blockbuster trades, Denver has recouped two first-round picks, two second-round picks, a third-round pick and quarterback Kyle Orton in exchange for Jay Cutler and Marshall.
The Broncos head into next Thursday's draft armed with three picks in the first two rounds, but with a big hole to fill at wide receiver. Marshall caught 101 passes for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He has 327 career receptions for 4,019 yards and 25 touchdowns in four seasons, all in Denver.
The trade also shakes up things in the AFC East, as Miami will match and arguably top the deal the New York Jets made earlier this week, when they traded a fifth-round draft pick for talented but troubled Steelers recevier Santonio Holmes.
Marshall, 26, is one of the game's best young wide receivers, a mercurial talent at the position where the Dolphins needed help most. He is in the prime of his career. But like Holmes, he also brings a reputation of being difficult to handle and a record that has him one strike from a year-long suspension.
Once Marshall signed his $2.5 million tender with the Broncos Tuesday, it freed Denver to begin shopping him. Miami was hot after Marshall, as was Seattle. Tampa Bay showed some interest, and even the Jets considered making a play for Marshall before making their deal for Holmes, according to sources.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to the Dolphins
as a dolphin fan I like it, they havn't had a pro bowl caliber reciever since chris chambers, the move automatically makes the offense better, Still don't think they can win the division though I think NE will somewhat return to form, everybody's darling the jets I think are getting too much hype, they have a great D, but I'm not sold on Sanchez, Edwards still drops more passes than anyone, LT is ancient etc etc, could be wrong but I don't think they'll be as good as their walrus looking coach thinks they will be.

I dunno dude, the same thing was said about the Jets last year.dtmfs wrote:as a dolphin fan I like it, they havn't had a pro bowl caliber reciever since chris chambers, the move automatically makes the offense better, Still don't think they can win the division though I think NE will somewhat return to form, everybody's darling the jets I think are getting too much hype, they have a great D, but I'm not sold on Sanchez, Edwards still drops more passes than anyone, LT is ancient etc etc, could be wrong but I don't think they'll be as good as their walrus looking coach thinks they will be.

Sanchez struggled early, but got his shit together at the end of the year.
As for the Pats, people are counting them out too soon. They aren't the Pats of yesteryear, but they are doing something quite impressive - they are rebuilding on the fly while still remaining a contender. A fringe contender, sure, but a dangerous one no doubt. So long as Brady is really there for the next 5 years, they'll be dangerous, and those 2nd round picks they keep stockpiling will start to mature sooner rather than later.
Regarding Miami, it's complex. They need a clogger and a rusher. The smart move would be to get Kindle in the draft and hope a veteran clogger becomes a cap casualty, although that will be much more difficult now as more and more teams are going 3-4 and good cloggers aren't exactly available in bunches.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to the Dolphins
Maybe I'm just hoping Sanchez has a severe sophmore slump as I've always hated the jets, alot of people are already handing them the division whereas I think Brady will be better this year than last. The jets Defense is scary as hell and the addition of holmes was a good move, I don't know how Shonn Greene will fare as the feature back, Dudes got it in him to be a beast.
Yeah I think Miami's still a couple years and some Key players away, It'll be nice to see what Henne's made of now that he has a legit #1, I just hope that Marshall straightens his attitude out.

He's supposed to be but he has a bad case of Casecoitis, and that's why the Titans are one of the better run franchises and Washington is Oakland east. Plus, he isn't known for playing full seasons.Crazy Levi wrote:thejuggernaut wrote:I dunno dude, the same thing was said about the Jets last year.dtmfs wrote:as a dolphin fan I like it, they havn't had a pro bowl caliber reciever since chris chambers, the move automatically makes the offense better, Still don't think they can win the division though I think NE will somewhat return to form, everybody's darling the jets I think are getting too much hype, they have a great D, but I'm not sold on Sanchez, Edwards still drops more passes than anyone, LT is ancient etc etc, could be wrong but I don't think they'll be as good as their walrus looking coach thinks they will be.

Is Albert Hayensworth a clogger? What the fuck is a clogger?
The Skins are trying to get rid of him.
Haynesworth was a lazy bum with a piss poor attitude in Tennessee. Until his contract year. Then he was a well behaved force, so they did the smart thing and franchised him, keeping him on good behavior.
That being said, I am not sure he'd work as a 3-4 NT, or even a DE for that matter.
I have no idea if Washington will be able to trade him. I can understand why they'd want to - offensive coach whose cap is hampered by this ridiculous contract to a part time DT.
They may just have to release him, or take a severe loss in a trade.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to the Dolphins
The Skins have basically paid this fat fuck off - since this year is uncapped, the Skins unloaded a ton of cap money instead of going on the usual free agent spending spree.
At this point, they have basically paid fat albert $30 million for ONE half-ass season.
That means, he is tradeable at this point as the rest of his contract is a much lower $8 million or so a season.
Don't know if they'll be able to swallow that kind of a loss though, or if they'll have any takers.
But if the cap returns, the Skins will actually be in good shape.

Good point, I hadn't considered the front loaded contract.Crazy Levi wrote:The Skins have basically paid this fat fuck off - since this year is uncapped, the Skins unloaded a ton of cap money instead of going on the usual free agent spending spree.

I think they might end up having to cut him because I can't imagine a team wanting him with that many years left. The salary is a bargain, so long as you can restructure his deal to get him to give up some years and get "contract year Albert".
But, who knows, maybe with Shanahan there and the changing of the business model, maybe he actually gets motivated. I doubt it, as there is nothing in his past to suggest he will, but, maybe it's worth it to at least give him this year; after all, I would say half assed Haynesworth is still better than 3/4 of the DTs in the league.

Re: Brandon Marshall traded to the Dolphins
If the Skins can't get anything good for him they certainly won't cut him. Why should they? Like I said he's already been paid. Would be nice if he didn't suck but it's off to a bad start, he's refused to take part in the "voluntary" workouts, instead working with his own trainer. This has not made Shanahan happy.thejuggernaut wrote:Good point, I hadn't considered the front loaded contract.Crazy Levi wrote:The Skins have basically paid this fat fuck off - since this year is uncapped, the Skins unloaded a ton of cap money instead of going on the usual free agent spending spree.

Plus, it seems the world has forgotten Leon Washington still exists.

Tony Scheffler and a 7th round pick just got traded to the Lions for a 5th round pick.
My Bengals really screwed up by not trying to get this steal. Would have loved to have had Tony in stripes.

I fucking loved Scheff.
I wish I know what the hell happened in that locker room, I never heard him to be in trouble or have any drama or anything. And we should've gotten better compensation for him!

Hopefully he can help keep Stafford off his back. Sims is a decent LB, but didn't fit the system. Didn't help that there was a black hole in front of him where a D-line was supposed to be.
