You should be glad the league isn't making the Bruins play an afternoon game or at 10:00 PM tonight!

I suppose it could be worse.

They just unveiled a Bobby Orr statue downtown and Mayor Menino described him as the "ionic" Bobby Orr who's famed goal was the equivalent of "Varitek splitting the uprights in the Super Bowl." :D

How does a team with a 3-1 series lead go home and quit in game 5? I still say regardless of the outcome this season Julien has to go. There have been far too many games like that over the course of the season where this team hasn't bothered to show up. That's the coaches fault.

Hey Wideman - for $4M a year you aren't supposed to stand there and let a guy skate in all alone. So what if your stick broke, you still can check him.

It's starting to feel like that 2004 series where the Habs came back from 3-1 to beat the B's. If there's any team that could fuck this up, it's the Bruins. However, they're probably just putting a scare into their fan base. They'll lose game 6, only to win game 7 at home, providing the Jacobs family with an extra home date.

Julien go? I think they need to sign him to another extension. Injuries have decimated this team and here they are up 3-2 in the Semi's. I think they would have packed it in a while ago if they were tuning him out. He's done a great job and there really isn't too much to complain about over the last couple of months as far as effort is concerned.

Last night reminded me of game 5 in Buffalo when we were up 3-1. I'm hoping it was just a matter of having the cushion of a 3-1 lead, but we'll see tomorrow. The Krejci injury might be the final nail for them, but Boucher going down for Philly could be worse.

Another thing, Rask seems to be wearing down a bit. Hopefully that is also a bit of laziness with a series lead and will be corrected tomorrow.

I agree with most everything you said about the Canucks.

How does a guy like Demitra lead the Olympics in scoring and play like utter shit when the Canucks get going again? It just shows he doesn't give shit.

Bieksa is a massive liability, and his contract is too huge to being to deal him. The only gm I see stupid enough to take him on is Burke.

Bernier has hands of god damn stone. This guy was highly touted when he came to the Canucks, but there's a reason why teams like the Sharks and Sabres passed on him. The guy has no hockey sense, and can't take a shot to save his life. Adios muchachos.

Wellwood is a different story to me though. I like him more than the 3 aforementioned players. But the Canucks need tougher forwards to compete against the likes of the Hawks and other upper echelon teams in the playoffs. He seems to play well in the playoffs, but they need someone willing to punish the other team at the 3rd line center position.

As for Luongo, I completely agree, they need to get rid of that overrated bum. Unfortunately, he has a no trade clause for the next several years I believe. So our only options with him are to send him to the minors or make life horrible enough for him that he'll want out. Schneider is the way to go, but it just doesn't seem like it'll work out. Although, what they could do, is bring Schneider up as the backup and have him start a fair number of games to the point where Luongo will get pissed. Luongo is the WORST fucking captain in league history perhaps (Messier when he was a Canuck is up there too).

Lastly, Vigneault has got to go. He got terribly out-coached. How do you lose 3 home games in one series? Good riddance!

luongo-miller showdown for the stanley cup.
Both those goalies got owned in the playoffs-both logged a lot of minutes in the regular season as well as the Olympics, not trying to make excuses for either one of them, but fatigue may have been a factor. Then again, if I'm paying someone 7.5 million,I'd expect a much better return on said investment, fatigue be damned!

In fairness to the Canucks, their defence core was decimated by injuries. Willie Mitchell's abscence alone was devastating, the other ones just compounded things.Kesler's injury hurt them as well-a big part of his game is banging, and with the shoulder injury, he just wasn't himself.

Pens lay an egg at home and Habs win! This is miraculous. Habs in the semis for the first time in 17 years! Downtown Montreal is bedlam right now. Now I want to see a Philly/Boston game 7 that goes to quintuple OT.

The next NHL "what if" commercial:

What if Crosby the dummy didn't take a stupid penalty 10 seconds into game 7!

For at least one game, I was a HUGE Habs fan. That was great. Actually, since the Wings are done, I'll jump on the Habwagon.

The Habs have been great over the last 2 series. Now the Canucks have screwed it up, I'm throwing my hat in with the Habs for the rest of this season. Really hope they win the cup now.

The bandwagon is empty this morning. I had a feeling that would be it for the B's when Krecji went down. Should be a great game on Friday. It could get ugly if they lose another game 7 at home in the semifinals in consecutive years. What a change a week makes.

Montreal is going to be destroyed by the time the finals roll around. It's looking like the LA riots up there after the semi's. B's/Habs would be fun, but I'm prepared to be disappointed.

The loss of Krecji and the return of Gagne for the Flyers is what I think definitely flipped the momentum of the series.

Yeah, for sure. Most people predicted a long series, just not this way. It should be interesting on Friday. I just hope somebody takes it in regulation time. Game 7 overtime sucks when your team is one of the participants.
