Straight Outta LA on ESPN
Anybody gonna watch this? Should be fun to watch all these washed up rappers (wrappers) talking about how great it was to have them in LA and shit. It's done by Ice Cube and it's about how gangster (gangsta) wrappers were into them and shit.
Just watch if you wanna see what kind of low life, loser, piece of shit fans Gayders are. I mean really.

Any time I can see footage of Ice Cube and his dripping wet Jheri Curl, it's been a good day. Hell yeah I'll be watching this!

Watch to see why most of us here in L.A. don't miss having an NFL team.
I hope Al Davis says he he has no idea what rap is but appreciates all the tix & merchandise they bought.
BTW there's an 11pm eastern/8 pacific showing on ESPN 2 for those who have live hockey or basketball to watch in prime time.

Garbageman, are you talking about the fighting and shit that went on at the games?
Fucking Raiders fans, they'll fucking beat up their own. I hope some Gayder fan fag bashes UtahRatt one day so he'll learn they suck. As bad as the Chiefs are, we take care of our own man.

Re: Straight Outta LA on ESPN
It was like the vermin of the city had taken over the stadium after a couple years... and that was even before there really was a Gangsta rap scene. When they were winning it wasn't a big deal, but by about 1987 when they settled into about a dozen years of mediocrity it got messy. Especially towards the end when both tickets and beer were dirt cheap compared to today in an attempt to get people to come to games.
People I knew who wanted to see their team play, which was always the visitors, borrowed Raiders jerseys to avoid hassle. The worst was seeing some retired folks from Minnesota who'd moved to sunny Escondido for their golden years getting beer poured on them by some brats for wearing Vikings gear. It's one thing for younger people to be joking around and a lot of it wasn't always serious... but punks hassling an older lilly white Minnesota couple is just disrespectful.

Re: Straight Outta LA on ESPN
Not bad...
They skipped Davis' original reason for wanting to move to L.A. (the NFL games looked like they might go closed-circuit/pay-per-view and L.A. was a huge market to cash in on).
The second team in Hollywood Park he complained about probably wouldn't have ever happened with Cleveland and Houston moving during the time frame he moved back to Oakland and the league putting the expansion teams in their places. And Hollywood Park was a crappy site for a stadium anyhow!
The thing at they end where people said "don't trust this man" seems to be true, so he probably won't live to see a new stadium.
And I don't miss the Raiders or Rams and enjoy Sunday doubleheaders I don't need NFL Season Ticket to see! Of course it seems every Chargers vs Raiders game is televised locally anyhow...

Props to Ice Cube for getting the opportunity to interview Al.
I told some friends about the program last night and none of them could believe that Al was actually part of the film.
I enjoyed the film a lot. Could have used less input from Snoop and more from the LA Raiders players/LA Media, etc....

Re: Straight Outta LA on ESPN
I watch all the 30 on 30 films and think each one gets better and better, not a bad one. Then I watched last night, that was close to horrible should of been on VH1...hip hop this hip hop that, nice to see Poison get a shout out. They showed the crowd, I do believe NWA is loved by the Raider fanbase, but they love love Slayer and early Metallica also
Ice Cube dropped the ball on this, it was ok at best. Good idea for a film just failed

Jani Lane and Bret Michaels should form a band called "Nelson II"

No shit, ESPECIALLY since a lot of it was about NWA and Snoop made his fame off of ripping on the one, the only Eazy-E. It's like Eazy said of snoop, "You rap about who you squabble with and who you shoot! You're only 60 pounds when wet and wearin' boots!"Machado wrote:

Re: Straight Outta LA on ESPN
...it was ok. The Association on ESPN about the LAKERS was much better, but then the LAKE SHOW wasn't nearly filled with ASSHOLES either.
