I blame players too. I have zero use for Kaberle - he has a low hockey IQ, his skills have eroded, and he is constantly in the wrong position. And it's not Julien's fault when a player makes a bonehead mistake.

However, there are certain things I blame on a coach. When a team comes out flat or takes a period off, especially in a big game, that is the coach's fault. When a coach doesn't make a move to try to change a momentum shift, it's his fault. When a coach has his team slow down the tempo and the other team takes advantage of it, it's his fault. And I'm sure it's obvious that I don't care for Julien's system. It's boring, it doesn't work in the playoffs against the more skilled teams, and he is too stubborn to change things up when it's not working. How many times can you watch a team come out flat and play soft in a playoff game without recognizing that it's mainly his fault? Julien is the NHL version of Marty Schottenheimer.

The 2nd & 3rd periods were excellent tonight. That save Thomas made was unbelievable.

Dude, shit is getting really real here.

I was 12 in 94. Watched the game downtown and just got out before the riots started. If they win it this year, one of 2 things will happen. 1) I get a heart attack from sheer joy 2) I end up in jail.

Boston/Vancouver would be a great final.

Being a lifelong Habs fan, and proud Canadian, I could never cheer for the Bruins, but as a hockey fan I have to admit I see long suffering, original 6 fans to be put out of their misery. A guy like Thomas decides to lift the Cup. I also like the dilemma Cam Neely is faced with in Boston, seeing how he obviously hates Claude Julien and he will now have no way to get rid of him!

Go 'Nucks, though.

I'm bummed that the curse continues in San Jose but congrats to Vancouver. They were the better team in this series and that was obvious. I'll be pulling for them in the Finals.

As much as I would love to see my team play in the 7th game of the east finals, it's also nice just to watch a 7th game. I just hope it's a good game.

I am officially in shock.

Great effort by both teams in a great game 7.....refs kept the whistles in their pockets (no real blatant calls were ignored) and the flow was tremendous.

Got to give it to Stamkos, real man playing a real sport. Paul Pierce would have called for a med-evac copter if he got hit in the face that hard. This dude grabs a towel, skates off and comes back in 5 minutes with a huge gash and a beekeepers mask. No big deal. Props.

The last time we were in the Cup finals we had to play EDM in the old barn with Mess, Essa, Glenn Anderson, Jari Kurri, Lowe and a couple of goalies named Ranford and Fuhr. Shit its been a long time.

Should be fun, fellow Massholes.

fuck i feel for roloson.

i just played 2 games today in the north american championships for men's beer league hockey.

i can barely walk because of a series of knee injuries and the fact i just played 5 games in 4 days. my back up couldn't get the time off work so i strapped the pads on and hoped for the best. my knee wouldn't straighten out. it's huge and stuck bent but i've never had this chance before and even on one leg i'm better then the alternative.

so we play our semi final game. our 2 best players are in mexico for a wedding. we've already lost to this team in overtime earlier in the day.

we were tied 0-0 and went into overtime. this was my game 7. i think i played the best game of my life today and that's saying a lot. i've been playing for over 30 years. i've never played for this championship before. this was a big deal to me. i wanted to be the hero.(i did get the mvp for the game and made 59 saves).

but with 1 second left in overtime we lost on a rebound i didn't see.

fuck. i just lost it. cried like a bitch. OVER BEER LEAGUE HOCKEY!!! lol.

i called boston/vancouver back in december.

a lot of the press are saying canucks in 5 but i'm saying 7 just because they never seem to do things the easy way.

Boston makes it pretty interesting because of how up and down they have been this entire playoffs. Like like kw said, I see a game seven.

Oh btw remember when the patriots lost in the super bowl and lickety said his sports teams loosing didnt matter because he had other shit going on his life (paraphrasing)

I just want to bring that up when the bruins loose

Great game last night with a lot of action. Both of those goalies were awesome. And the refs put the whistles away and let the players decide the game for themselves.

Wow. I thought they had a shot, but I'm still in shock. Great series. Tampa showed a lot of balls.

The matchups with Chara/Seidenberg on the Sedins and Bergeron on Kesler are pretty good. The B's also beat Vancouver 3-1 in the only game this year. I think Vancouver was more injured then. Should be fun. Thomas vs Luongo is pretty sweet.

This is fucking amazing. It's going to be a hell of a weekend. I know a few people scrambling for Vancouver travel plans. I told them they would be screwed trying to get tickets. I just assumed that's the case.

I can't believe the Bruins are in the freakin' finals. Gives me hope for the Habs next year. If the Habs were a little more healthy they would have ousted the Bruins for sure.

Go Vancouver! As much as I like a couple of Bruins, I'll choke on my own vomit if I have to watch Chara raise the Cup knowing the only reason he's raising it is that he, personally, ended the Habs' hottest forward's season.

I don't see the Bruins winning with that power play. If the games get physical and players get sent to the box there are going to be power plays. The refs might swallow their whistles for a game 7 but not for an entire series, and if any games are going to be highly penalized it's usually the first 3 or 4 to set the tone. 8% isn't going to cut it in the finals. The one thing they do have going for them is a goalie that has the potential to steal a game. If they can get the power play to the point where it will keep Vancouver honest and take one of the 1st two games then it could be a fun series.
