Re: The official NHL thread
the game had nothing to do with the riot. same thing happened at the olympics. a few idiots show up with canuck colors on and start shit. that's all they were there for. vancouver police dropped the ball on this one.

Re: The official NHL thread
It's not about the game. It's about a huge amount of people, drinking and partying, waiting for a celebration that doesn't come and needing an outlet. It just takes 100 out of 100,000 to start shit and then the mob mentality takes over. It could be anywhere. It is a shame though.TawnyVonJagger wrote:Watching CTV...shit's fucking crazy. Oh my God. Heard rumors - not confirmed - of 9 stabbings and a fatality. It's a fucking GAME, people.

I'm just glad an American team won since those evil Canandians stole Anne_ Thrax's team.

I wanna see the list of Boston failures grow this tonight.
The Super Bowl favorite Patsies getting handled by the Jets
The future NBA champion Celtics getting handled by The Heat
And after tonight...
The Bruins losing in 7 games to the Canucks. Please God make this happen. The Bruins don't even deserve to be here. They shouldn't have made it past Montreal or Tampa. Tonight this lucky streak needs to end.
Stay classy, Rioting is always the answer to taking away the pain of losing 4-0

And canuck's fans thought everybody was cheering against them cause they're a Canadian team. No, it's cause you're a bunch of douchebags, and you proved it with the riots.

Great result for Boston. I hope to see the victory banners still up in the city when I visit later this month.
The Vancouver riots even got news coverage over here in blighty. Talk about sore losers!

I just need to stand up and say that the rioters in Vancouver are NOT indicative of all hockey fans. I would say that 99% of us know there will always be a winning team as well as a losing team.Kerry King's Pentagram wrote: The Vancouver riots even got news coverage over here in blighty. These idiots, unfortunately have marred the beautiful city of Vancouver.
As for the game; well played Boston and well deserved.

You really think those rioters are indicative of the entire city's population? You really think those idiots are hockey fans?Bassmaster1984 wrote:Great CLASS ACT Vancouver. Shows what your character really is.
It saddens me and I bet the people of Vancouver too, to know there are people who think they way you do.

And no - of course the retarded actions of those morons don't represent the whole city of Vancouver.

Vancouver fans have managed to make Philly fans seem classy. At least everyone in the building was respectful. I love the hockey series handshake.

Re: The official NHL thread
Just so you guys know, the majority of those rioters aren't even from Vancouver. Most of them came from the outskirts to probably do what they did regardless of if Vancouver won or not because they're a bunch of hillbilly inbreds who just wanted to break shit.
People living in Vancouver wouldn't do that to their own city. These losers weren't from here and treated Vancouver as though they were trashing some strangers house at a party

Re: The official NHL thread
I'm sure a segment of the rioters were idiots that did this to their own city, but regardless, these were definitely not Canucks fans. No way in hell should there have been 100,000 people downtown watching the game outside to begin with.Royal Dudeness wrote:Just so you guys know, the majority of those rioters aren't even from Vancouver. Do I think this is indicative of the people of Vancouver or Canucks fans? No.
But don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining. OF COURSE these people are Canucks fans. You think these people bought $30 t-shirts and $150 jerseys so they could "blend in" with the "real" Canucks fans? Gimme a break.
Again, it's a small percentage, but they sure as shit were Canucks fans.

Re: The official NHL thread
You guys really need to learn how to have a Finals then. When the Bulls won their six titles, the police shut down all interstates into the city to avoid a flood of mouth breathers. Yes, we had the gunfire, fireworks and people driving around honking, but nothing like what happened last night. It's called preventive measures.Royal Dudeness wrote:Just so you guys know, the majority of those rioters aren't even from Vancouver. Re: The official NHL thread
I'm not saying ALL the rioters weren't Canucks fans. But don't think for a second there weren't "bandwagon jumpers" there last night. There were people gearing up for the riot...they came to watch the gamed prepared with signs etc. (I just heard this on the noon news)Tommy wrote:Do I think this is indicative of the people of Vancouver or Canucks fans? Just like the G20 riots here in Toronto last year, there were definitely people there to riot...I have no doubt of that. (And you can get a 'bootleg' jersey or t-shirt for next to nothing. Especially during the playoffs off some street vendor.)
The "real" hockey fans were the ones inside the arena, cheering for Boston and reacting appropriately. Not the assholes out in the streets.
